Don't think so. The mountings to the classic hubs are different I think.
I could be wrong, find Fuzz in projects and ask him as he IS an expert.

Graham, not sure where you heard their different??

they will fit, however firstly they are slightly longer in the body so may have the effect of slightly raising the car and on the rear the struts have no camber built into them - on a classic this means that your rear wheels will sit vertical and have an odd effect on the handling, you'll need camber bolts to address this!!

Sure i heard it at PowerStation, but only in casual conversation.
I thought the width of the cast hob 'boss' that goes into the strut (with the camber bolt.clamp bolt in them)was narrower on the classic than the two side plates on the strut off the new age, hence a gap.

As i say, i thought i could be wrong!

I possibly *****'d up in my PM to wideybrook then...

It's the later Newage cars that have the wider hub bracket and different hole spacings. (05 onwards)
It's pretty much as Alyn says, PRE-05 struts will physically fit but the alignment will be all over the place.
Sorry for any confusion.

Andy

That works.
The conversation was about my fancy AST's being specially made with the Classic brackets for my Hillclimber instead of the 'new Impreza' spacing.

Bob,

I am pretty sure that all newage is the same (as in pre 05), as I remember being told this when I was waiting for my AST's to be delivered.

Cheers webby.

Anybody know how much longer they are and whether this can be compensated for with adjustable ride heights?
