Question Ohlins Suspension

Just had a look to see if my suspension is adjustable as advertised when I bought the car and found out it has Ohlins adjustable shocks. Has anyone else got these on their scoob and does anybody know how good they are.

I have found a few pdf files explaing how they work and how to set them up correctly but would like a bit more feedback.

Cheers

Nick

As you're probably aware Ohlins are pretty poor so why don't you swap them with my very good standard set-up

Seriously Ohlins are very good but it will depend on their age, condition and type. Presumably they're strut type similar to the OEM set-up rather than coilovers?

Yes they are similiar to OE and have the adjusters at the bottom which can be adjusted by hand. I will have a proper look as soon as I get some more spare time.

gotmashed: Just been doing a search on here and saw some of your posts. From what I can gather they are pretty good.

flat4: I haven't looked at the back ones yet but have read that they adjust on the top and not the bottom like the fronts is that right.

both mine adjust on the bottom, if they adjusted on the top you'd have to remove the seats everytime

I'm very happy with mine

Got a set off fleabay for a reasonable sum, got custom springs made for my leggy for about the same price as Eibachs and had the struts revalved to suit by Aurok (very nice people to deal with). So ended up with a suspension custom designed for B-road hacking. Works very well. A bit of a faff getting it done but worth it in the end.

I'd agree the new price on these is a bit silly.

Flat4, sounds like you'd benefit from stiffer springs and a revalve. IIRC Ohlins don't advise going less than 3 clicks from hard as they use a temp compensated adjuster rod and it needs some room to expand.
