Default Are Prodrive springs the same as Eibach

As the title reads, I know they are both made by Eibach; but are they the same. Thanks, Simon

The talk on here is that the prodrive ones are made by eibach. so eibach use a slightly differant spring rating. Most probably a nats chuff in differance. So much so that the tolerances might overlap each other. But don`t quote me on that.

Can I ask you: are RE070(Spec C factory fitted) same with RE040?
They are both made from Bridgestone so why they are different?
As simple as that!

Our springs are indeed made by Eibach as they produce springs very well, that are durable in use and give us no problems with things like sagging over time etc. What they are less good at is producing spring kits that are specifically tuned for UK Imprezas (not a criticism of Eibach by the way, the guys in the UK were gobsmacked when they drove our car as it was so much better than the car fitted with either their springs or the std springs)

Our springs have different rates and lengths to theirs and our kits come with new bumpstops in some cases which is arguably the most important part of the whole kit. Our kits are designed to improve the ride and handling, generally an Eibach kit is designed to lower the car no matter what the cost to ride is.

Thanks Mike. I've looked on the Subaru website. Part Number: SACC2566 £195.00 inc VAT; do you know if these are sold with new bumpstops.

Thanks, Simon

If the kit is £195 (all WRX up to 04MY & 02MY STi) then there are no bumpstops. If it's £225 (03on STi & 05WRX) then there are bumpstops included.

Mike, Can I go for the £225 option on MY03WRX or would you recommend purchasing them seperately.

Thanks

The bumpstops are to fit the inverted montube dampers as fitted to the STi. We hadn't got the bumpstop sorted by the time we did the 02MY STi kit, hence they aren't included in that kit, however they are included in all STi kits from 03MY on. The WRX has only been fitted with this type of damper for 05MY so that's the only kit that includes them as that's the only model they fit.

Just spring kits were never avalibale for the classic... it was only the bilstein dampers and springs (and rear anti roll bar on some).

Tony.

So can you still get bilstein dampers and springs for the classic? assuming you can't, what would be the best solution if you didn't want to go down the adjustable coilovers route?! Eibachs seem to be the only option...

Mike are the bumpstops still required on the 02 STI?

If so are they the same part numbers as the later cars? Or do they carry a different part number? Im wanting to get a set of prodrive springs for my 02 STI soon

Cheers

The Prodrive Bilstein/Eiback kit is still available for pre 2001MY cars from your dealer.

frayz

They aren't required but it will be better with them fitted. Part number is SACC2555A
