Shocks?
Driving over speed bumps, on the way down when my front tyres make contact with the road again I get a creaking noise from the front suspension. Car is an 02 sti with lowering springs having covered 30,000 miles. Are the shocks in need of replacement? Also, the back end is noisy (when going over bumps at lower speeds) so again, is this shocks?
I get that noise on my 03 STi,
i found out that there is a problem with the shocks sticking.
as mine is an import i cant get it done under warrenty.
The problem is (as i understand ) the top of the shock has a "scraper" to remove dirt for the piston rod, and it goes dry, causing the shock to "creak".
All i do is put a bit of lube on the piston, it just frees up that top scraper and allows the piston to operate smoothly and the problem goes away.
