Default Bushes under warranty?

Hi there,

Just had my 20k service today and it was revealed that one of my nearside rear bushes was starting to split. I was advised that if i start hearing a knocking sound from that region then thats gonna be the reason.

My car still has over 12 months warranty remaining so don't we think bushes should be covered? I personally think they should.

Comments appreciated.

Frank.

Cannot possibly see why not, as long as the suspension is standard. Must surely be a manufacturing fault for it to fail after only 2 years.
Does the warrenty book not state what is not covered, i.e. frictional wear items such as brakes etc?

Good luck, certainly would get it replaced ASAP. Could be an idea to have a close look at the others.....

yep all suspension is standard. Garage advises this sort of stuff could be classed as consumable but i'm afraid I beg to differ. I wonder if I can call Subaru direct on this?

'Consumable' - NO WAY! Stick to your guns. Perhaps try another dealer if you have one local. Suspension bushes must be covered...... Good luck, keep us informed.

chased the garage up today... again. They have got agreement (without any fuss) that the bushes are under warranty.

Booked in, in a couple of weeks to get them changed.

What was wrong with your shocks? I'm concerned about the handling of my car - my old Corrado VR6 with 150,000 miles had a better ride. Were they changed due to the rediculous 'bouncing' effect when driving on a mway at 50-70mph or for something more serious - mine's so bad at times I was sure I had a puncture?
