Default shocks or springs?

I have developed a saggy rear end in a MY00. If someone sits in the rear offside it sags real bad and hits the arches going around left handers. Is this the spring or the shock failing? or both?

Hi Milamber

As a spring is a very simple component, it is more likely that the damper is failing in bump. Without more information / a test it would be difficult to diagnose properly, but I would suggest that is likely.

If however, that corner of the car sits lower than the others when the car is stationary, it will be the spring, and or spring mounts as dampers have no effect in steady state.

All the best

Simon

It sits fine, so I guess it must be the shock then, Cheers.
