Talking Quick bit of advice please !

I have been offered a Front anti lift kit at a good price this weekend.
I am driving an MY01 Impreza with Eibach springs & about 290 BHP
Is this a good mod to do ! Do they need to be linked to anything ? Also is there a better way to go ?

Cheers
Paul

whats it set to if ya remember? not that the answer matters but it'll give you a bit better turn in than what you get just now. i don't have it fitted meself, but if your getting it for a good price....why not theres nothing to fitting it. straight bolt off bolt on job.

it does affect geometry yes, but it only add, IIRC, 0.5 degrees neg camber, but thats the idea bud. it gives you more camber, thusly better turn in. thats the main thing. it also stops a bit of nose dive and lift off over high speed jumps. you shouldn't get it reset, more just have it checked again. some peeps might not agree with that one, but i would just to be sure.

From memory the antilift kit adds caster not camber, the geometry will need to be reset once fitted.

Try Whitelines web site for more info

By the way I'm impressed with the Swissol kit

Paul I had the whiteline 22mm ARB, ALK, solid drop links and Prodrive springs fitted to my WRX 03 by Powerstation. The ALK has made a positive effect to the feel of the car through steering feedback as the car can run more positive caster via greater adjustment Ala spec C. Thats what Powerstation told me any way LOL, but it does in practice.

The only downside is that you do get a little more noise, vibration and harshness coming into the car because of the stiffness of the ALK bushes, but my car runs PFF7 wheels with 225/40 tyres so there is not much compliance in the tyre sidewall to begin with.

If you do fit the ALK you will need to have the geo done at the same time as this is disturbed when the ALK is fitted.

With the above mods car does handle very well and if you can get the kit for a good price well worth it IMHO.

Regards

John

PS after all the above was fitted I had Powerstation set the geo to their settings.

The better handling comes form the additional castor. But due to the way the kit loactes the arm it actually promotes dive and lift.... Pro-Lift kit . There was a very large thread about this a while ago and whiteline themselves said they should considering changing the name as it is very misleading.

Tony.
