Question

Guy's your kind advice is needed on the following please:

I have just fitted a prodrive wrc pro suspension kit to my scoob. The kit comes with a 18mm diameter REAR sway bar. The original rear sway bar is around the 20mm mark.

My question is would the pro drive one give me better handling than the one I already have on it? what are the up and down side to this?

Look forward to your responses

Unless the steel used in the prodrive setup is some how stiffer (somehow I doubt it). What you should look at first is re-bushing the rear end, made a huge difference to my curcuit car.

Moe i have the PD kit fitted on my MY00 wagon and is excellent neutral handling with slight understeer in and minor oversteer out (fun)really depending how you enter the bend . However i find a lot of body roll for my liking especially in the rear. So i ordered from whiteline auz. their sway bar, antilift kit plus sway bar links and rear mounts all with polyurethane bushes. Ill drop u a mail when i fit them to let u know if u like

Moe,

the rear bar does not take very long to fit at all. Why don't you book yourself onto a trackday where you could feel the differences (safely) and see which one you prefer.

Thanks for the Stelios!

So you have the same PD PRO KIT? the one that cones with a 18mm sway bar? these shocks and springs are all grey/silver..can you confirm this please.

I am still running my std sway bar which is thicker then the PD one I think it's about 20.

I would be keen to know more when you have your new stuff fitted..thanking you very much

Hi ZAK can I ask why you post as MO, once you put your name down for a PE RR which I went to but did not want to run just watch. The organiser said you put your name down why arnt you rolling, I assured him I didnt put my name down and I post as TopCat.
had a laugh though. So yeah keen to know why you post as MO.

The other guys have said to try also just like you because it's easy to fit, the answer I am looking for is that the PD 18mm sway bar will give me more roll at the back therefore I should stick to the thicker bar...

thanks for your help ZAK

Hey Guys

Just fitted the Whiteline AntiRoll Bars and links & had the Bumpsteer mod at the weekend.

WHOA amazing difference. Me car is so confident in corners, and totally flat. I can whiz through corners I know well 10mph quicker and I feel the car is more settled, confident and no understeer

The only downside that I expected despite being told otherwise is an increase in harshness and bad roads. Thats due to the bushes and solid links.

Just do it.

Hi Moe

Nope the Whiteline ARB's from Powerstation are 22mm front & back, whereas standard on MY00 is 19mm front & 20mm Rear.

I've had both changed.

I did the mod as I do alot of Track days, and am fed up with the understeer.

The Bumpsteer mod helped reduce understeer alot, improved feel and improved the line through a corner, ie no correction req'd midbend, but the ARB's dramatically improved feel, annahilated body roll, and have so far eliminated understeer completely. I have yet to try them out on track, but after the Ring trip, I'll know more.

Yes I saw them when I was up there big chunky things that is what confused me about fitting the 18mm ProDrive one. so I have stuck with the std 20 one
