I have been thinking about changing the suspension on my MY95 WRX. The favourite choices on here seem to be:
Leda kit - expensive but the full works
Eibach springs with original shocks - alot cheaper but may need replacing with full kit later if I get into track days

Is there anything in the middle price wise that anyone could recommend? I'm tempted by the Ledas but don't know whether I really want to spend £1240 (Scoobysport). The bumpsteer mod is also to be done after I have the suspension updated.

My car will be used mainly on lanes but also motorways and the odd track day in the future.

Thanks
Scott

Hi Scott,

Bilstein are bringing out a new coilover kit in the next couple of weeks. I believe the price will be around £900. It's both ride and height adjustable.

There are also coilover kits available from Avo (around £850) and Apex (about £900).

Gentlemen,

Do any of you have any experience/thoughts about the APEX and AVO kits. I've read countless threads about the Leda's, both in the U.K. and the U.S. but nothing of the other two.
Reason I ask is I'm looking for good road/occasional-track-use suspension and like ZAZ am wondering if I need to go all out on either the Leda's or DMS Golds or if there are good alternatives.

Cheers

Mark

Mark,

I was going to purchase the AVO kit when I got my car 18 months ago. I ended up not going down that route as the supplier talked me out of it saying that they were way too hard for road use.

Ever since then, I have heard nothing but goods reports from people that do have this kit fitted.

I suggest you try to locate someone that has this kit so you can experience it for yourself. Or perhaps you could ask god - SDB!

Mark,

I have just bought an Avo coilover kit and will be getting it fitted next week. I'll let you know how I get on with it.

Sorry to hear you missed out on what could be a good setup. What did you install instead (if anything)?

Steve

I look forward to hearing your opinions on the AVO's. As a matter of interest, what car do you have and roughly how much did you pay for them?

Thanks again gents

Mark,

I've got an imported MY96 WRX. It's currently got KYB adjustable shocks and uprated springs. The rear shocks are worn out hence the excuse to upgrade to the Avo stuff.

I paid about £850 (incl VAT) for the Avo kit.

Cheers
