Danny,
I'm getting mine fitted tomorrow! Or later tonight if I can get hold of a deep socket set!
Ian,
They are Cusco strut braces. The front is polished metal, the rear one has a carbon fibre finish.
They look incredible!!!
Photos will follow!

Andy Hi,
Hope you get that strut sorted, I would
like to ask about the fitting side of the matter . Do I need to use a torque wrench?
And if so what is the required amount?
I will be getting A momo front item next week .
Thank You
Aziz

Puff, there is a difference between the STi one and these. These are BIGGER, STRONGER and look a hell of a lot better.
But then this is my own opion, and I have been known to be wrong. Start that bandwagon...

Not disputing that (yet to see one but if it's OK for J... ) but is it the same mounting concept as the STi one - where once in situ you tighten up the bolt that attachs the strut mount to the brace - or is it one piece through-out with no ability to adjust anywhere?

J,
Do you think that the std STI one is cr@p or would you include the ooh so expensive carbon one as well?
I was contemplating spending some of my hard-earned dosh on a nice carbon STI one, but if they ain't up to it then I won't bother.
How much are the Cusco ones?
Stefan

Hi there,
The STI brace in its own right is crap... I can flex that end to end myself...
Not singing the praises of the Cusco ones, but the front is 40mm diameter (alloy) tube. The adjustment is at the end, the same principle as the STI items.
The rear bar is carbon fibre, again 40mm tube.

Ozzy, the STi brace is skinny against the cusco unit. Carbon sharmgon! What the carbon is stuck to is more important. With the bigger diameter brace, the stronger it should be.

Hi again
The STI carbon one is crap.. thats the one I can flex (even without using the bull worker)
The design principle is poor... using seperate carbon sections like that.. and the crap joints.
The cusco front bar itself is made out of one piece of metal... ideally a straight or triangulated design onto the bulkhead would be best (but isnt feasible on our cars).
I believe the Cusco is one of the strongest bars around (I have used the STI carbon, sparco, omp and now cusco)
The rear bar is a straight single tube design made of carbon which offers great strength. If you really want that extra rigidity (ooer) Cusco offer a rear triangulation bar.. that you bolt down onto the boot floor.

ps - Most STI parts are crap. u just pay for the name

I have had a mail from one of the suppliers on this bbs. They have pointed out that STi also make an up-rated group N alloy unit.
Plus J, please check your mail.
