Question

Sorry to keep on chaps but....

A M8's Scooby has these anti-roll bar links on and whilst I know it's a little sad, anybody have any idea where these come from? My M8 doesn't know 'cos he bought the car 2nd hand (from a dealer) and they were already on it.

Any help most appreciated...

Cheers,

Matt.

Cool

Looks like the stock, flimsy and dodgy euro spec scoob ARB endlinks. They're made of plastic...

I will change mine as soon as I get me thumb out.

No no no - these are kind of box section and are made of ally - they are in fact V.Nice. I've got the nasty standard plastic ones which is why I'm looking for replacements. I'll go for the STi ones if all else fails but these are much nicer!!! (couldn't get a side on shot as a)it was dark and I couldn't really see what I was doing as it was and b)it was pissing with rain and I wasn't about to lie on the ground and get wet (Bird!).

This is what the standard plastic ones look like:

Cheers,

Matt.

Cool

MM,

They`re manufactured by Whiteline in Oz if i remember correctly, as are a lot of good handling upgrades Scoobymania sell them in the UK, they also have the less expensive uprated swaybar links. Even the uprated 1s r great compared 2 the std parts.

Thanks for the response guys but I know about the Whiteline links that you can get from Scoobymania or MRT. I don't like those which is why I'm trying to find out what these other (nice) ones are.

These are the Whiteline ones:

Anybody else got a clue?

Cheers,

Matt.

As posted on 22b.com, the top pic is of the front drop links and all the others are of the rear links, which ones are you asking about ? The standard Sti 5 front links are different to that and so they are possibly an aftermarket type but I can't recall what the standard early ones are like (Wagon is no longer here. the Whiteline rear links and uprated roll bars work very well and its not as though they can be seen as you drive (well not normally)

Mutant_Mat

I think I know what you are on about.

I got some solid front drop links from Glenn at Revolution, he had them specially made for his motor but never got round to putting them on.
Unfortunately they were not the correct ones for my motor, looking at your picture it looks like they were made for the same car your mate has got.
The set that Glenn has are of solid aluminium make but instead of being tubular they are cylindrical. I think they were 110mm centre to centre.
They look and have been made to a very high standard.

Give him a call on 0191 4770785. Ask for Glenn, mention my name.

Hopefully he hasn't sold them!!

As also responded to on 22b.com:

Bob, thanks for responding - how stupid do I feel. Of course the picture of the standard ones are from the rear and I'm talking about the front. Trouble is, I've currently only got a picture of the plastic ones at the rear. I'll have to sort that out.

I'm going to put uprated roll bars on front and back and want to find some decent (I'm sure they work well but I just don't like the Whitelines) drop links for front and back ready for when I change the bars. As you say. I'm pretty sure the ones I've pictured are aftermarket but nobody seems to know where they come from....

Hope this makes it a bit clearer.

Does Glenn have an Impreza Turbo then 'cos that's what these are for? You make it sound like either you or he doesn't have this car which is why the links didn't fit?

Yours confused,

Matt.

You know that I know that I don't want the Prova ones..... I don't want rose joints for bushes, I like the fact that at least "some" of the road noise and vibration is NOT transmitted to the inside of the car.

If you can't be helpful Mr Davies, please keep quiet!!!!!
Matt.

Heh....

Scott, you know I've already looked at the Prova ones - what I'm after is where to get the ones at the start of the post from. You know you'll confuse me if you start talking about other products....

Question

This may sound like a stupid question, but how easy are the rear anti-roll bar links and bushes to change? I've got to get 'em done and quite fancy a go at them myself......

They`re a piece of cake 2 do, from what I can remember 2 bolts per wheel a kid could do it, mind u though could b awkward on axal stands (not high enough). Get m8ty with u r local tyre center an ask them if u can use their 4 poster with 1 of these its a 1 hour job tops including a cup of tea Of course I`m talkin bout the whiteline kit again
Dunno about the others but would imagine they`re all much the same.

Nice one Pete

I'll be replacing the old ones (MY95 5dr) with some sourced off a WRX.... not Sti though

Of course the easiest way would be to do one side, then jack up the other side after (after having a tea )

Thanks though - after all, tis nearly the weekend...... any news on the weather???

Dan
