Negative Camber Adjustment
#1
Hello all...
Yesterday I had my car booked into to get some more negative camber dialed into the front and rear wheels.
Apparently, the standard Aus-Spec WRX has 0.5 negative camber on the front, and 0 on the rear.
My car had 0 degrees camber at front and 1 degree camber on the rear!!! --- In other words, it was setup for understeer from the
factory.
What was more worrying, is the fact that the suspension place could not get anymore than 0.5 degree out of the front. The standard WRX should be able to get 2.5 degrees from the front.
It seems to me, Subaru are "dumbing down" the car to understeer more, and are attempting to prevent the home mechanic from doing anything about it.
Or it could be that I just got a lemon :-(
In any case, some new camber adjustment pins have been ordered, and they're still trying to correct the situation. We're also getting in contact with Subaru to see if they can shed some light on the situation.
(My car was one of the last batches of MY00 to enter the country)
Regards,
Daniel.
