Question

My 95 WRX is fitted with KYB adjustable suspension, but unfortunately it only adjusts from 'hard as rock' to 'christ, my spine' !

What would be a better suspension set-up for our pitted roads? On a typical bumpy B road I seem to spend most of the time bouncing out of my seat, and in the wet, oversteer can occur with little warning, and when it does the back steps out REALLY quickly!
- Not good for quick progress!

I would quite like to keep a lower than standard ride height, so can anyone offer any suggestions? Oh, and not TOO expensive if poss!

Cheers
Leigh

Thumbs up

Thought of the LEDA kit from Scoobysport? It seems to be very well thought off on the BB!

Eibach's with adjustable Koni's.

With Koni's on softest setting ride quality is better (better damped - more composed - less jarring) than standard car.

Since fitting I haven't even tried a firmer setting - I will once winter is over though

LEDA B from Scoobysport will give you one of the best setups, and the option to tweak it for road or track use.
Most of the benefit is from the guys at LEDA doing the full setup.
As for you setup, if it is in good condition I would be interested ....

Speak to Graham at TSL (their number's on here somewhere)they do some good set-ups , from Eibach springs only, through to fully adjustable set ups.

Leigh

I drove Silver Surfer's (Jules) RB5 with Leda suspension fitted a few weeks back down at Scoobysport. It is very impressive. I think it was set to 'soft' when I drove the car and the ride felt very good - very similar (perhaps a little better) to a my UK MY00 riding on the standard factory suspension. Well worth a look if you're thinking of changing.

Question

Just a quick question, I was thinking about sticking the Leda's on my car MY99 UK, will it on soft setting reduce the ride height??

Cheers

Not that I'm aware of Andy - didn't look any different. Pete C is probably the best person to ask.

Ahem! I did say not too expensive!
£1175???? It's only a bloody M reg, y'know!
Is that really the only worthwhile swap?
I think I might put up with the harsh ride, I don't plan on keeping it much longer than this summer. Getting the Skyline urge, see.

I say not that expensive at £1175, because:

1) The Prodrive kit is about £1200 (can't remember if that includes fitting)
2) The AVO kit is about £800, £1000 fitted.
3) There is a kit for £2k on the ScoobyMania site!

Prodrive is not adjustable - Leda's are.

AVO I've been told is a good fast road kit, but only slighty better than standard (but adjustable)! - Recommend if the standard kit is 'broken' and you don't want to do hard track days.

The £2k is meant to be the danglies, but the only person I know with it is Mike Tuckwood.

Can't comment personally about any of the kits, but have talked to a lot of people!!!

Andy,

To answer your question.
The ride height gets reduced by 30mm regardless of the damping setiing. When fitted at Leda, they check all this and corner weights, geometry etc.

Hope this helps

Steve.

Forgot to mention, You'll need to book the Leda through Pete at Scoobysport as I don't think they'll sell you direcetly.

Steve.
