Wheel-alignment when fitting Eibachs?
#1
Hello everybody!
I have a MY98 and want to fit Eibach springs!
A local tire-dealer will fit them and after the fitting do a wheel alignment (of course
with the prodrive settings!).
Isn't there a problem: When fitting the Eibachs, they need about 2 weeks to settle, so
wouldn't it be better to do the prodrive geometry settings after these 2 weeks? I
think the settings alter with the ride height???
He also told me to adjust the brake balance (front to rear)? Is this necessary, I
thought the car with ABS cannot brake to much on the rear and so a brake balance
adjustment wouldn't be necessary?
thank you for any comments

Hi Ric
the best way to get the alignement up to your own needs after fitting the springs is to drive your Scoob let's say 1000km and then check the wear pattern of your tyres carefully. This gives you the proper indication if you should readjust the geometry again. If they wear too much on the outer shoulders add a bit more of negative camber. If it is the opposite then go in the other direction.
Tyre pressure is also very essential. As you know I rund on 35psi all around (17inch) with negative camber all around (maximum). Still have worne them on the outside so much that they look like slicks after 6'500 km. Now on my third set of S02 this year (very expensive!) I'll try 36psi to get a more even wear pattern.
Hope this helps you
See ya
