I have a Legacy GT-B and when I was underneath it the other day (trying to sort an oil leak from the cam covers) I noticed that the bottom of the struts had a locknut with an adjusting screw (see below) - is this to enable the damping of the struts to be adjusted?

If anyone has any details on this I would love to know

Thanks Paul

Paul, Dont try and adjust the struts with these!! These are the bolts which hold the inserts into your struts. Theres a threaded section on the underside of the insert which protrudes through the body of the strut to locate it and stop it being pulled out. You can get adjustable billies but they cost mega bucks.

Thanks for the advice guys - before I got the message i tried to tighten the screws - I was able to tighten the offside front by about 1 and 1/2 revolutions - car seemed much quieter the next day - I assume the insert was loose in the strut
