Cool

Well, why not ask Prodrive yourself?

I spoke to my dealer yesterday and the sales guy said that if I had the prodrive settings applied to my suspension that it would invalidate the warranty if any suspension components failed. Is this true? He seemed very defensive about the standard cars settings and said that I would not be able to tell the difference anyway.

Maybe I should look for another dealer to service my car, one that understands that Scooby owners will always want the best for their cars. Seemed like he would have been happier selling Vectras not Scoobies (said owners should not be allowed under the bonnet!)

The settings are indeed the ones used by Prodrive for their suspension, they do not recommend them for standard cars at all, but several people tried them on their cars a year or so back and found they made a big improvement to turn in, and reduced understeer, so other people copied this and it has become one of the first mods some people do to their cars. The improvement is quite remarkable.

Not quite sure how changing the settings would make the warranty void on the suspension if you applied the settings, but then some dealers are being very politically correct about anything done to the car, and some have a much more realistic opinion of their customers and the capabilities of the cars.

The settings did faff all to my car.

Then again my car wasnt far out to begin with. And lets face it, an extra 0.5 degrees at the front - how small is that ?

The difference may lie in the wording.

"Max equal neg camber at front"

well if you've an aftermarket max camber might be -3 degrees !! For me at least with a standard '99 it was only 1 degree.

Well, I have just had the PRODRIVE setting put on my car (Std UK 98 + 17" Speedline and 215/40 tyres) car by Elite and I can say that they do make a difference.

Turn in is better, though still not razor sharp. Still washes out at the front in the wet but I feel that better tyres will solve this problem.

Well worth £50.00
