Leda C questions
I have recently purchased the Leda "C" option and I am wondering about the opinions of those who have it. I have searched the archives and found that it is optimal for those that drive on poor roads (and living in the US we have some of the worst roads in the world!) and for those that want the ultimate in adjustability. I would appreciate opinions, thoughts, dislikes, annoyances, anything that can help me tune them to the best degree of perfection.
Thanks for the help,
Philip Howell

Its more a question of what you are happy with!
I run quite a hard setup so that it improves turnin and handling but I am sure alot of people would find that too hard for day to day use.
It is more a question of trying to find a setup that is compatable for your driving style but I would suggest you get a few hundred miles on it first of all to get it bedded in a bit.
You will usually find that there is a difference of 2/3 clicks front to rear being softer at the rear to give a good balance for handling.
Hope that helps a little I dont have a list of settings that have been suggested to me at work at the moment though.

Today I have joined the Leda C band.
One question: the instruction sheet states among other things ENSURE THAT THE PRESSURISED CAPSULE IS SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE CHASSIS OR SUSPENSION ARM.
OK, alright, but is there a preferred way of locating this unit on the Impreza as far as you know?
The company which will fit the units has only handled Leda B so far.
I confronted PC with this question but did not receive an answer so I will contact Leda directly.

Hi Jerry..
I have fitted Leda C (personally).
The canisters are fitted using the P-clips provided. I felt that the clips didnt hold the canisters well enough.. So I wrapped an extra piece of rubber around the canister..
Anyway... its quite hard to describe... but at the front is the brake ducting (underneath the car).... at the side of that is a small bolt/screw.... thats where you mount the front canisters.. on the horizontal..next to this duct... The canister will wobble until you cable tie the braided hose in place...I put the hose behind the leg..and trap it behind the lip for the ABS wire bracket...and cable tie through the small hole.
The rears is a similiar process.... they go at the back of the car (under the boot), again in the horizontal position... you will see the existing small screw/bolt you use.
I wrapped the hoses in spiral wrap, to stop them rubbing the paint/underseal off... Stainless hoses are nasty for doing this.
When will you be fitting the kit ? I will have some pictures on the web in a few days... showing the installation of the suspension...brakes....gauges... exhaust....airfilter.... plug change....
I just need to get a few films developed first.
J.
ps - Think yourself lucky.. I never even got an instruction sheet.. lol

My Leda C was fitted by Leda, and the following may be of assistance:
The front reservoir canisters sit flat in the under engine tray at the outermost edge next to the bottom of the inner wheel arch, and are secured by a bolt and bracket.
The rears are fixed by the bracket to the inner rear bottom of the wheel arch, and for extra security with cable ties to the bottom of the rear plastic bumper. I have also added extra cable ties along the length of the hose where is brushes past the rear anti roll bar.
Scoob_13......What do you classify as "poor roads"? Rutted, pot holed, bumpy, uneven?
Most of our roads in the UK are well maintained which means you can run quite a stiff set up. Fortunately it is rare to come blinding around a corner and find a pot hole more than a few inches deep to contend with.

firefox & Steve,
Thanks for your comprehensive answer. I think I can visualise your descriptions. However never be shy to use a good photograph for purposes like these! There is still time because the kit will be fitted next Friday 19 November.
To complete the 'picture' I have included the official statement I got from Leda today:
Front - forward of front mounting of bottom arm, use existing hole to mount canister clamp.
Rear - rear of rear wheel arch - using existing hole to mount canister clamp - and tie-wrap the hose to the rear anti-roll bar.
Make sure that once the canisters are securely attached, that the hoses do not interfere with any other components during
suspension and steering movements.
Regards,
Len Dixon - Leda Suspension Ltd.

Pete:
Mike Shields works for Leda?
Unfortunately I did not receive your reply. Are the descriptions above accurate enough?
Others:
Do not be jealous of someone getting some kind of leaflet with some instructions written on it! lol

Hi there...
I'll be taking the films in tomorrow....kinda finished the film off showing how to remove the rear caliper and pads, etc.... Yes I got bored today... lol
I should get them back for Friday....I'm busy this weekend...so chances are it will be Monday before they go "live"
I think the pics show the suspension in all its glory...covered in thick mud... haha
You cable tie the rear hoses to the anti-roll bar....leaving enough slack for movement...The pics will show it all...
