My Wagon (MY98) had its 90K service the other day, and one of the comments was the bushes on the anti roll bar are starting to show signs of wear. They said it is not fatal yet and will probably need doing at the next service.

If I am having to changes these bushes anyway, is there any sort of up grade for these? (This has nothing to do with solid drop links does it?)

Sorry to be vauge but suspension is really not my area, but was wondering if there was anything worth doing while I was down there?(So to speak.)

BTW it is a sport.

nex, get powerflex bushes to replace. they're independant of the drop links and are really easy to fit.

Do the bushes wear out mainly through age / deterioration or through use ? I've done relatively few miles, but the car feels a bit more light 'n bouncy on the road nowadays.

I was thinking of a set of these for my '99, in addition to drop links and Eibach springs.

stanmo, if its more bouncy than it used to be then maybe your shocks are worn (your car is underdamped). stiffening the springs and arb/arb bushes and drop links will make it more bouncy. address the dampers first. new bilstien dampers, eibachs, uprated arb's, uprated drop links and powerflex bushes would sort it out.

Cheers guys for the replies. Sorry it has tken soo long, but have been off work ill the end of last week, and have just put the house up on the market, so have been a bit busy.

So is this the sort of job you can do at home on the drive? What is involved and are there any special tools you need, other than a big hammer?

Change the drop links and polyurethane bushes come included, several sorts / makes to choose from, £35 to £80 a set, makes some different especially if you need to change bushes anyway.

Easy job on simple home drive up ramp, maybe an hour at each end max!
