Hi All,

Last time at the wheel allignment shop I tried to change my car, '96 WRX, to the Prodrive set-up but the chaps told me that the front camber can not be adjusted.

This goes against all I have heard and read than again the guys are reasonable competent here.

Is there a special trick or hidden nut/bolt whatever??

Pleased to hear so I can explain to the locals.

Thanks

Frank

they're talking bollox - top nut of 2 at base of struts should be a camber bolt - i.e you turn it one way for more & the other for less camber probably up to a max of about -1.5 deg.

Thumbs up

I agree, it's the rears that aren't easily adjustable.

Yeah I agree, it's standard adjustment Rear Toe, Front Camber and Front Toe. There is some after market stuff to increase Caster. This helps to improve the Understeer, which inproves the ability to get the thing to turn in.

I'd prefer to take it to somewhere that knows about this stuff. If they did not know before, by telling them about it being adjustable only goes to show how "out of date" these guys are and in need of training.. A place to avoid in future me thinks....

Went to the workshop which is also the local distributor of the alligment and balancing machines of Gorgy and they managed to find 1 degree of negative camber, cornering much better now.

Also did the 1 mm toe-in asper prodrive but this mighthave cost me a bit of top speed and dont know what it did for cornering as did at the same time as the camber, high speed braking seems a bit better tough.
