Picture Of Rear Drop Link Bushes Please

Hi, been told these may be responsible for a intermittent clunking coming from the rear either that or anti roll bar bushes, problem is I don't know where they are.
Can anyone help?

Can you email me with the details of the droplinks and how much you want for them. Been thinking of sorting my suspension out, but not entirely sure what to do

Steve,

You can buy the Whiteline ones shown in my pics from Demon Tweeks, Jap Innovations, Scoobymania to name a few. Cost around £75 for both front and back sets.

There are thicker, cast ally ones from Powerflex but they're twice the price. Haven't tried them, so can't say whether they are a huge improvement over the Whiteline ones.

I noticed the turn-in felt sharper and the car felt much more settled when pushing on through bends. Just seemed to tighten the suspension movement up more given slightly more feedback.

Ozzy,

Sorry I just read a few other of your threads and I do feel like a dick head now!! Think I was confused as I bought the "powerflex kit" and paid around £70 for them not realising that there was a big difference in price. What a ******

Better get onto TSL tomorrow and order the fronts to go with my AVO coilovers and rear droplinks. I've also ordered a rear strut brace to stop body flex. I was interested in your and others comments about the RB5 having a solid bulkhead. I've always laughed at this, as a piece of black cardboard and a thin metal bar isn't a solid rear bulkhead IMO ???

Yes, you are a **** didn't like to say, but since you brought it up

I don't think Powerflex actually make the same drop links for the front - I could only find the rears on their website, but I could be wrong.

I'm not entirely sure what qualifies as a solid rear bulkhead. The RB5 uses the same bodyshell as the STI6 and I don't know what difference it has over the UK cars.

It does have a nive solid piece of cardboard and a stiff bar across the back seats. Whether this is the infamous rear bulkhead or not is anyone's guess

Ok, so I have to buy whiteline front drop links now as they seem to be the local law and the only ones available?? So have you fitted a rear anti roll bar ?

The RB5 is exactly the same as a MY00 apart from the solid back seat, toughened black cardboard thingy and the pants metal bar, which I removed and fitted solid MDF to mount my amps on

coincidentaly that's my next job - fitting some MDF for my amp that is.

Whiteline are the only replacement drop-links I've found for the fronts.

Yeah, I've replaced my rear ARB for an adjustable Whiteline one. It's the blue bar in the 4th picture. You'll notice a big difference with one of these. Cost £100 from Jap Innovations.

boys speaking of drop link...do you know where i can get the uprated and very tuff rear axles for the version V1 subaru Sti...and how can i upload photos?

Ozzy,

Thanks for all the free advise you gave me. Just spoke to Paul at TSL and powerflex do do a front droplink kit, so I've just added that to my order and it should arrive in the next few days!! Looks like I'll be having fun over the weekend

By the way I used the toughened black plastic thing as a template for the MDF allowing a little extra all the way around the outside. I mounted the MDF plate to the shell with a couple of inner tubes in place to stop any vibrations from the sub, and this works fine!! I couldn't use the RB5 strengthened bar, but thought it couldn't be doing that much anyway!!

While you got the rear seats out, find the earthing point near the passenger side seat belt tensioner, and use this to power your amps. There a nice boot entry point just behind this. Hard to describe, but once you take the seat out you'll see what I mean... I had loads of grief finding a suitable earth in the back of the car, and this one seems to be able to supply enough current for my 2 times V12s that I'm running. Hope this helps.
