As the title says, please discuss why that's the case... (ive got a MY01 WRX). Is it fact or marketing fiction?

I did the solid alu droplinks front and rear together with a Whiteline adjustable rear ARB, and for sure you get less understeer, on the hard setting of the ARB I'm into serius oversteer.

Why? Softer ARB gives more grip, harder ARB gives less grip
The same is the situation ( to lesser extent) with the drop links.
Harder ARB in the rear gives less grip, because the ARB transfer more grip from outher wheel to inner wheel, and inner wheel do not have the same load and availability to get grip as the outher Wheel, you then get total lesser grip in rear and less understeer or oversteer. Car ballance is more important than total grip.

.. so basically whilst you reduce understeer - you lose rear grip a bit making the car more oversteery??

Correct Jza. If possible you could improve grip on the front, but ballance is often more important than grip in one end. I'm talking track race or Rally, on the road I would like a slightly understeering car
