Question

how necessary[sp] are bushes in the drop links?

i.e. could i set to and fabricate a set in solid steel to the same dimensions as the factory plastic ones and expect them to work like a poly-bush set-up or do the bushings serve some other purpose than holding the bolts that i've not considered?

they would be in conjunction with a set of poly-bushes to attach the ARB to the car's body in place of the factory rubber ones.

ta in advance.

Cool

You would gain a shedload of noise and vibration if you did this. The vibration may well lead to premature component failure.

If you have the tools and ability, you could always fabricate yourself some solid copies of the rear arb connecting arms and mount these with poly bushes. Now that would make a difference.

just another thought

as i see it the bushings to the car body will remove a lot of the vibration etc and there aren't any other components that would be directly affected by the ARB as the path for vibration is into the ARB from the suspension arms not the other way?

help would be welcome as i'm getting confused.
