Adjustable Shocks- how to adjust ?
#1
Hi
Just looked at my front shock upper mounts from within the engine bay and there's a 6mm allen key connection to the top of the shock. But when I try to adjust it it seems completely locked.
Car was bought recently so don't even know if they're meant to adjust..I know the springs are HKS but not sure about the dampers.
The allen-head is at the top of a threaded bit, which is bolted down with a 17mm hex-head. Tried undoing this bolt but it seems locked as well !
Piccies of the top mount:

that's just the top nut holding spring on damper.
Dont' undo or it might all fall apart.
Adjustable dampers usually have a **** to turn either at the top (not in your photo) or on the side -
so have a look underneath, behind wheel - if no **** on damper they are not adjustable - or too complicated for me too !

cheers Mark - yeh I thought t may not be adjustable. I just thought that because it had an allen head, it was meant to be used for adjusting ! Obviously not I guess. I suppose it's just there so you can grip the strut and tighten the bolt properly without it spinning.
I'll check out the side of strut though see if there's anything on there !
Cheers
