Question

Does anybody know the dimensions of the standard springs supplied with the AVO Coilovers i.e spring diameter and free length?

if you want to fit higher rate springs, you can go a little shorter, as you will get less compression on them under the static weight of the car.

Probably assume 55-45% weight to the front (maybe as much as 60-40 for saloon, dunno) and figure rough compression of springs (AVO is 250fr 200r) and go from there. Only likely to be an issue if you want to lower the car a lot.

If you go for shorter springs make sure there are loose and rattle up and down, or they might become unseated from the top or bottom spring platforms. You can get helper springs (tender springs) to take up the slack if things get this bad.

AVO do their own springs, demon tweeks do a large range, as do Merlin Motorsport.

Paul, thanks for that, I am actually going softer on the springs, as I ordered the AVO's with 275lb front and 225 at the rear, but the shocks seem completely unable to cope with this. The ride is very firm buit with little damping. Several people have tried setting it up with no joy, so I am going to try 225 front and 200 rear. Springs aren't expensive so I may chop and change a few till I get it right!
