Default Lets talk suspension

i have a my97 gf impreza im going to be improving on my standard suspension sometime soon was wondering what suggestions would best fit me, i dont particularly want coilovers as i wont be racing around a track but i want to improve the handiling.

i have been told to change the lateral arms and drop links anti roll bar, i would preferably like OE stuff instead of aftermarket, do i have to change my lateral arms or just the bushes? is there a difference, i am a bit of a novice in the impreza department, iv managed to get my head round most of the engine, turbo and brake bits and the jargen that comes with it any input would be great thanks Aaron

Don't you think it's about time you upgraded your selling status?

Don't know - never thought about it.

OP had 111 views, over 2 days, and no response. So I gave him my spring-biased opinion, and budget options.

jdm V5 sti, jdm v6 sti and P1's (P1 had softer springs) all had inverted dampers. But, you'll get better performance from new excel-g's, rather than 15 year old, second-hand, struts.

Just out of interest what is the JDM difference?

V5sti/v6sti produced for the Japanese domestic market - used the same dampers/bump stops/roll bar sizes as the P1, but stiffer springs.

P11L are a lighter, 6mm lower version of the P1 front spring.
WR15R/T are a lower version of the v5sti/v6sti spring.
Both spring versions have increased forward rake and a greater free length - to allow use in multiple struts - rather than just the inverted struts.
