Default Prodrive vs tein coilovers

There's a brand new set of red prodrive springs on tbay perfect setup on your struts @ Ł150 or you could go for teins which are lower but harsher

On tein coilovers to harsh but good on track

Prodrive black springs just right for normal roads and motorway and ride height bang on for splitter

I've got 235 45 17 re070's on mine good sidewall you need that with these scoobys

Lovely set of wheels good quality perfect colour I think they go well with the obsidian black when the sun hits and the gold fleck comes out of the paintwork defo one of my favourite colours I've had 2black ones that's one of the reasons I went on to springs and got rid of my coilovers as the splitter never had a chance it was that low

I'd personally start with putting a splitter on then seeing how you feel there's a trader in here "kas" does the, good price or ht autos as I have on mine if you still feel you wanna lower it then you've got a couple of brands to pick from let us know how you get on pal

The best reviews I've read for lowering springs are pca dynamics. Apparently they're superb for a daily drive, but possibly a bit soft for track. I've gone for Meister R coilovers and they are fantastic.

Premise: that the positively raked, rb320 strut and spring combination, was the optimum for UK & NI road use.
But, the Bilstein struts are no longer available, new. And the rb320 rear springs don't fit kyb struts.

Lowering the ride heights, means changing the internal or external bump stops, dependent on which KYB damper type - inverted/non-inverted.
The rb320 struts have very short bump stops, and damping tailored to work with them.

Prototype sti spring set due in 2/3 months - aiming for 345-350mm front, 350-355mm rear.

Might be an option for you?

As the op's car is non widetrack either he'll have the red chunky sti shocks or the black ones the rb320 springs will fit on the widetrack kyb springs no problem as I've done but the op does have plenty of options tho

Like I said: the base diameter of the rear rb320 spring doesn't seat in a kyb perch.

I belive Pca dynamics will also fabricate spring to spec. They're run by an ex-prodrive engineer (Peter Cambridge) who knows a huge amount about subaru suspension and geo settings. And they're not hugely expensive either.

Yes. Peter has been more than helpful to me, over the past few years.

That image actually makes it look worse than it is.

The base diameter on the rear rb320 springs is smaller. So, on a kyb strut, they sit more on the sloped edges of the raised sections, to the inside of the perch.
As opposed to centrally, between the raised inner sections and the outer retaining rim.

If your going by the plastic sleeve thingies they can be misleading as the spring coil foes not end there it goes more into the seating of the strut

The blue pca spring set are designed for wrx dampers.

I'm sure you checked their free length, coil bind and factored in the completely different length and durometer of the kyb bump stops. As well as their spring rate being matched to Bilstein damping, not kyb.

Just to address a few concerns…

MSRP:
Back in March when I first announced this product the GBP exchange rate to the dollar was at 1.8 to 1. Unfortunately now the exchange rate is at 2 to 1. Including a slight increase in material cost… the MSRP of this item has gone up from what I originally estimated.

Sway Bar:
I have made this part of the kit optional.
Shortly after its announcement many potential customers e-mailed me saying that they have already invested in sway bars and would like to purchase the kit minus this item.
This decision was made do to popular demand. This does not mean you can’t buy the kit in its entirety.
I am still waiting on this item to arrive and pricing will be announced at that point.

Value:
This item was NOT designed to be a competitor to a coilover setup nor be an option for replacement struts.
This is why I we have gone with a different spring perch… to prevent anyone from installing other springs that would not work properly with these struts and to avoid having any dissatisfied customers.

This kit will do the following:
- Improve the vehicles handing (minimize under steer, Improve steering feel, etc.)
- Improve vehicle dynamics (reduce drag, improve ride quality, etc. )
- Improve aesthetics (lower stance, more aggressive stance, etc.)
- Improved/Reduce MVH (motion, vibration, harmonics)

This is a unique suspension option for the STi and its aim is for low to middle level tuners who are looking for improved handling with a very livable ride quality.

In my personal opinion the ride quality is as comfortable as a factory Spec-B. This is where the kit shines. I also extend a welcome to anyone in the Southern California area to come at take one of these vehicles for a ride.

Please let me know if you have any other questions… I am also available by AIM.

Kind Regards
