coilover recomendations £500-ish
Hi whats a good set of coilovers for track and for a daily driver also...around the £400-500 mark or is it worth putting the extra to get an £800 set of bc's?

500 pounds
The request here was 500 pounds ,
I paid 575+vat last year. For BCs but I am pleased with them.
Whatever you put in you still have to do a geometry setup and thats likely to cost around 100-150 , so you are looking at something second hand for 350-400

Saw the ad apparently 585 for a set , probably +vat.
Depending on version These are front 7 or 8 kg / mm , that's 1 or 2 kg more per mm than my BC ,that will make them good for the track but rather stiff for b roads.
Otherwise The HSD do look remarkably similar to the BC but are very Kermit "green"

I dont mind putting the extra money where its really needed. But i dont want to waste £500 where i can save it on a cheaper not so well known brand equally as good. HSD sounding like a good sudgestion.

Not got them fitted yet....A christmas pressie to myself, They are just away getting checked before i get them fitted, Hopefully in a few weeks time will tell.

CX racing exports
No , CX racing will export, I have a TMIC and Turbo from them
but you have to go to customs and pay your VAT and duty if you order FCA. This means the carrier will deliver to UK and customs will require you to arrive in person with the original invoice , they will apply the appropriate HTS tariff number , this defines the inport duty rate , might be 2 or 3% . UK VAT is also paid on the cost price , you will be asked to provide proof of payment converted to pounds. So that this can be calculated.
Alternative is to call them to ship DDP and pay the duties and taxes
up from via credit card up front.
They are west coast so remember 8 hours time behind.
So expect shipping and 20% on parts from the US prices.
I was on the CX racing site earlier , and saw the ones they have on offer.
Personally I think you are better off with the HSD or BC from England, and so I also had mine fitted from Sub4You. If you have any problems you have a supplier you can go back to , CX racing and US terms of business are Seller orientated , you don't have rights of return like you have in UK. So either you are prepared to take that risk or the price is so attractive that you should not worry about it.

I dont like the idea of buying from abroad really. I think im going for hsd. And scooby kid its mainly road but looking to track and sprint this year im looking more towards the benifits of a track setup than a road setup.

Yea they do seem very knowledgeable just been reading there posts. Can anyone give me a few pointers on a good track setup bearing in mind iv never been on a track before and i know nothing about a suspension setup but I do think i will be quite confident to push and test my skills and the car. So far my plans are.
HSD coilovers not sure which rate yet.
Get wheels aligned and checked.
Get geometry set not sure what specs yet either.
Front and rear struts.
Semi slicks.
Is that ok for now? My rear shocks have gone at the minute car feels terrible.

You all do realise that pretty much HSD/BC/D2 etc are all pretty much the same there all assembled by the same cheap Taiwan Materials that come out the same factories but just a different colour..
As for the spring rate 7/8kg etc is fine for road use.. If looking track set-ups your talking like 12-10kg.
IMO if your looking to improve the handling etc spend the money and get decent suspension. If you want just to lower your car on a budget then these Taiwan made coil overs will do it..

In my view they are decent for the money.

just because i post things people get offended by doesnt mean i dont know what im talking about.
im a long term owner and modder of imprezas and speak from EXPERIENCE of having used bc coilovers .
they are budget cheap rubbish but you get what you pay for.
