Can anyone help?

I've got a MY99 Sport with 17" Super T's evolution wheels, Tyre size: 205/40/r17. They were an absolute bargain! and came off a turbo, i believe.

Because of the tyre profile, the overall diameter is less than the original 15's. I would like to lower the car/improve handling & have looked at the Sport Eibach springs.

However.....

When the car is 4up or loaded with my drum kit i've experienced the rear wheels rubbing on the inside of the arches when cornering. (I think its the edge of the tyre on the rubber things they put on the inside of the arch.

This problem is stopping me from changing any of the suspension.

I would apreciate it if anybody has any input & also are the wheels ok for the sport?

I don't want to make any drastic changes if it can be helped (i.e. expensive suspension/rolling the arches etc.) and i would hate to have to lose the wheels :-(

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Paul

BTW Posted similar on SIDC & JohnS was very informative/helpful.

It's not that i didn't agree with what John said, but would like to see what other people think aswell.

Many thanks
Paul

I just removed the plastic inner from the guard and rolled the guards myself.

Put a large block of wood out the outside of the guard cover with towel or something and get a rubber head hammer and tap the metal.

I have the same problem with my 98MY car when I fitted the New Prodrive wrc 7,5x18 wheels, with 225-35-18 Bridgestones.
My suspension is the WR sport Prodrive which lowers the car more at the back and adds to the rubbing.

Really dont know what to do.

Your advice is more than helpfull.

Elias
