Here is my desk chair made from a Impreza Wrx Front seat.

I made this over a year ago now and its served me well. Its Bolted/Welded to the base. It can be reclined as normal. The base isnt height adjustable.
The seats in great condition except for a small cigarette burn on the base. The bolsters are mint. The seat can't be bolted back into a car again due to the way its mounted.
