Hey bud,

What rear brake shoe application are these for, or has the handbrake been amended to be hydraulic?

This is coming off a P1 AFAIR so it will fit an R160 diff and handbrake setup.

Well that is an R180 diff and the bigger handbrake shoe so I doubt it will fit

Are these Subaru specific disks and calipers? Never seen AP lettering like that so was curious. I also though the AP rear disks were one piece items with the AP kit, is this a godspeed kit or similar?

Thanks.

If they can be cost effectively converted to R180 I'm still interested.

Would it be possible to swap the bells and brackets to fit an R180 setup Ian?
Is this something you can do? How much would it cost?

PM if you prefer

It can't be done , with the smaller R160 backplates we only just had enough room to fit a bracket in place to bolt the calipers on , with the larger backplate on the R180 there would be no room to fit a bracket on , we tried it hoping to offer kits for the STi but couldn't do it

Cheers Ian

So the ONLY option for the rear of the newage STi is the genuine STi kit available from AP Racing?
You don't do a kit yourself?
Sorry Tayscooby, I was very interested in these. Best of luck with your sale.

Kind regards

Frayz.

Yes the only option is the AP kit , that kit has lug mounted calipers so they don't have a bracket , the calipers bolt directly to the backplate so this overcomes the issue of space , or lack of it for a bracket.

Unfortunately I can't make a kit using a radially mounted caliper as there is phisically no room to do it

Will this fit a newage bugeye with r160 hubs/diff? Also will it be overkill with ap 330 4 pots on the front and mess up the brake balance?

No it won't fit as the holes in the backplate on your car are in the same place as the STi , this kit will only fit the classic back plates , I'm sure you can fit the backplates to your car as the rest of the axle would be the same. You should be able to pick these up easy enough.

The STi Brembos will fit straight onto your car if you fit larger handbrake shoes or insert discs
