If you ever want your car mapping in the future you have to pay licence fee to allow the ecu to be opened and remapped as its done on a laptop........after any power upgrade such as turbos injectors air induction all need mapping to run right on your car, also your car could just be mapped to gain more performace as it is.......so the cost to open a ecu and a full remap can set you back from £480+........fitting this ecu a map would set you back around £280 hope this has helped ;0)

Do you know if this would fit a blob (2003) STI?
Also does swooping ECUs create any problems with keys or alarms etc?
Interested if it could work with mine.
