Well I have worked in the Automotive trade for over 20 years, and I've never seen a bolt with a tensile strength of less than 8.8 used in any application which could be classed as under stress or that would become under stress when used as pivot point (as would be the case when towing a vehicle on it).

As a matter of fact I have never seen a bolt anywhere on a car, LGV, PSV or articulated trailer used with less than a tensile strength of 8.8 used in any application.

they were sold too me as genuine, but i'm not 100% sure , as some people say they should have unique serial numbers ,
they are not from china , they were bought from US and have the import invoice to prove ,

they are very good quality etc.. check my feedback if your not sure

give the man a chance he said he,d accept returns if your not happy and is being as honest as possible by the sounds of it and im sure you can get better bolts cheap enough if your that bothered. like it has been said how often you planning on been towed? besides whats wrong with the standard tow eye,s? your probably only buying one of these as a fashion accessory anyway lol

i agree if they are fake people have a right to know just seemed like people were having a pop at the guy when he seemed to be answering the questions pretty honestly in my opinion but if selling things that are dangerous fair comment

Slightly concerned if these are fakes as I bought a pair of tow hooks. The quality does look good but does that mean anything.
Jeff I think you need to contact your supplier & then give a definate answer as to wether these are fake or not.
