Default Brembo Gold Brakes Front & Rear Full setup

Here I have a full set of front and rear Brembo Brakes in very good condition.

These were recently removed from my daily driver Classic UK wagon as plans have changed and they are no longer needed. They were all working fine when removed from the car.

This is a full hassle free setup including all needed to fit them to a classic so will bolt straight on to include:

Front and rear calipers
Front and rear discs
Front and rear pads
Rear fitting kit brackets and bolts
Rear fitting kit thicker brake shoes

Based on what these normally go for and the fact this set is in very good condition, I'm looking for which I think is a fair price considering there are sets in much lesser condition with worn standard discs going for similar amounts on Ebay etc.

£485.00 Front setup
£285.00 Rear setup
£ 95.00 Rear Shoes/Fitting kit

I would say the calipers are in excellent condition and have minimal chips to the gold paint, I have included many pics to give a clear view of them.

They have not been re-painted as many have and are the correct shade of gold.

With regards to the thread issue known on these calipers, all the threads are fine and in good condition.

They were carefully removed recently by Richard @ FB Tuning who has a very good reputation and he is happy to confirm all threads were fine when removed should anyone wish to contact him but the pics show this clearly.

I specifically had them removed by Rich and not any local dodgy garage to avoid any damage to the calipers.

Discs are good quality and not the standard Brembo items.

They are in excellent condition and I'm pretty sure the rears are Braketech as the groove pattern is the same. Not sure on the make of the front discs but these are also very clean and undamaged.

No major scoring, lipping or corrosion of the discs at all.

The pads are also in very good condition and with plenty of wear left in them.

Pads are Mintex MDB 2592 up front and Mintex MDB 1890 at the rear.

Sorry but at the moment I am selling these as a full setup so not really looking at splitting the fronts and rears but may do so depending on interest.

Would also prefer a local pickup from me in Harrow, Middlesex as I don't want them to get damaged etc in the post.

I can post out if your happy to organise it and at your cost/risk if etc.

I don't mind helping anyone out and meeting a few miles from me if that helps anyone..I'm not too far from the the M1/M40/M25 motorways.

Overall a fantastic Brake setup in excellent condition for any classic.

Happy to have a chat with anyone on these..PM me for my number.

Yep..it's a cracking setup with great stopping power especially when mated to braided lines.

Hi mate

It sure is a nice set and in excellent condition compared to some on ebay.

I paid good money to have these removed from the car carefully and not butchered off!

Not an expert..but AFAIK if you've got the 18" prodrive P1 wheels which are an offset ET53 you will need a 5mm spacer for them to clear the Brembo's.

I've heard this mentioned by others so like I say..not too sure on it.

I think Eibach do a set of spacers that suit.

The wheels I had on at the time were ET48 and cleared the brakes perfectly.

Hope this helps...if anyone can shed light on this please do.

The braided line should be fine as that's what I had on mine when they were fitted..a must I think to get the best pedal feel.

The pads all look good with even wear on them and plenty of life in them as can be seen on the pics.

Cheers.

Up for a quality set of brakes in excellent condition.

Just to mention..AFAIK the rear Braketech discs are around £170 new from Aztec Performance on their site..maybe a bit cheaper to us on s.net but still a big chunk all the same..

As can be seen in the pics..this a setup that is ready to go and does not require replacement discs or pads for a long time which is a mojor cost saving when shelling out for 2nd hand brakes.

Also just to mention..there were absolutely NO vibrating or any other issues when these brakes were fitted to my car and they stopped perfectly on a penny..way to efficient for the performance of the car they were fitted to as it was a standard UK car on standard suspension.

When sets of these Brembo's are being offered for sale either on forums or Ebay etc they are often sold with half or badly worn discs/pads and many are just the standard ungrooved O/E discs that came with the brakes in the first place.

Also when these Calipers are put up for sale without having been removed from the car or often on Ebay etc there is no garantee the threads will not have been damaged at removal which is a common issue...so even if your looking at buying some and don't go for these...please check that issue on any you may end up buying as you may have to end up replacing the threads with sleeves etc at additional cost.

Even though I am a reasonably competent home DIY mechanic..I did not want to risk damaging these calipers in the removal process which is why I paid good money to a very good reputable independant specialist who many of us on hear know to have them removed carefully and avoid damage.

The discs on this set are highly vented and sensibly grooved so IMO are a massive improvement in both performance and cooling over the standard discs.

As can be seen in the pics..the pads are all very evenly worn suggesting the discs are also evenly worn and have not been overheated at any point with harsh braking or long periods of hard braking...my wagon was never quick enough or handled well enough to warrent stamping on the brakes anyway!!

The disc surface's are uniform too and not badly pitted or ridged and feel smooth to the touch across the friction surface.

So if anyone is after a very well looked after set of these awsome Brakes then these are the one's...

There are of course other sets or these Brembo's on Ebay and alike for a little lees money maybe but undoubtedly will need money spent on them to replace worn discs/pads or refurbish the paint on the calipers which many will agree rarley ever comes out like the origional paint colour and metallic finish of them from the factory.
