What nice bits are on it?
Have you considered dropping an engine back in it? Matty always has good long engines for sale @circa 1200£ so surely it would be worth doing?
My guess would be 2k as it is?
And a lot more with an engine obviously.
Edit: and don't hate the posts, just go with the flow like everyone else

Where is the engine, is it missing or do you mean it's blown. If the engine is missing are ancillaries present like alternator AC pump etc aswell as turbo and headers etc as all this makes a huge differance. An engine can be sourced fir £1200 but add all the other parts plus fitting and car transport and it's not such a viable prospect.

True,was forgetting about the gearbox.
Engine hoist and half a day costs very little, really are an easy engine to fit, even I did it

Agreed but not everyone wants to do it themselves or has the ability or space. That wasn't exactly what I was getting at, where is the engine and all the other bits like turbo headers alternator AC pump PS pump pipe work clutch etc etc. These all add up and aren't included with a used engine and if you do pay to get it fitted on top it all adds up. I'm guessing the engine and parts are there but the wording of the thread suggests not and it will be worth more if these parts are present which is my point.

03 STI full history with that sort of milage is going to be worth in the region of between £7k up to £8.5k for something with nice mods and pristine condition to the right buyer, so depending on how much of the engine ancillaries are missing, Turbo, inlet and exhaust manifolds and the stuff mentioned above then £2.5k up to £3.5k.
Personally I wouldn't pay more than £3k, which would leave room for parts and to be able to make a few quid for the work involved.
Edit to add; Obviously worth more than that in parts, but again someone has to do the work to strip it, advertise and sell everything.
