Earlier classics would need the heads swapped along with the inlet manifold
Newage cars it would drop into and make a good upgrade for a wrx

Would this be an open deck block?
If I wanted to put this into my v3 would I need to use my heads and inlet manifold?

Yes it would be an open deck block (unless changed), your heads and inlet manifold on and it will drop straight in

Hi sorry if this is a stupid question but is this a 2.0 or 2.1 you said
2.0 as you planned on staying with the standard box, and didn't want the torque of a 2.1 stroker.
But I thought a ej20 case, sti crank, rods and 92.5 pistons were the makings of a stroker

if it has V3 heads on then no it wont fit a 04 straight off, you will need to swap the heads or do some jiggery pokery with your wiring and ecu etc.

Yeah it would be handy to know because I've got mine going in to get looked at but I'm thinking it ain't going to be good news you got any photos of it

Would the heads off a mine be ok I ain't really looking more bhp just want a reliable engine

yes the heads would work fine from your car. Can sell the V3 heads on as they will fetch good money

I don't know, it thought it was v3 from the pics of the exterior. If it's v5 it will go on the wrx above no probs .

You may not need a full remap, however it would be worthwhile getting it plugged in and checked once the engine is fitted and running
