Is the rear diffuser slightly damaged where the exhaust sits? or is that how it comes?

 

No not damaged mate it has to be cut to allow for the back box on your car,and as mine was an angled exit exhaust it needed trimming to suit,irrelevant really as it cant be seen when fitted.
