Default 2002 WRX Engine - CHEAP - £300

Hi All,

I'm looking for a quick sale, so that I can buy a forged engine that I've got my eye on

I have a 2002 WRX long engine with 105,000 miles on it for sale, I'm after £300 for a quick sale.

I was told the engine was std when I bought the car earlier in the year, but Rich from FBTuning has checked it over ad said he can see that its had bigger injectors and turbo swap in the past. Rich did a compression test, which checked out fine, and mapped the car to just under 1.3 bar (I asked for a tame map). Its very smooth now, and has a lot more get up and go (Rich put a ported VF35 on for me) than before the map, but Rich did say the engine is a little bit worn, but if maintained should be good for another 40,000/50,000 miles or more with the map he's given me.

The car/engine has a full service history, but did notice over the weekend that the passenger side rocker gasket is weeping, but while the engine is out, its the perfect time to sort that out. I've been told this is very common on higher mileage cars.

I haven't had it on a RR, but Rich reckons is low 300's BHP because of the tame map I asked for.

The engine is still in the car, and I can take pics or a video for you. Or if you are local I'm happy to take you out for a drive :-)

I've tried to be as honest as I can, please PM me if you are interested.

Cheers

Hi All,

after a chat with Rich at FBTuning I've decided not to sell the engine.
Rich said that apart from loud det cams (I have no idea that that is!) there is nothing wrong with the engine.
Got to love his honesty! He could have got a bigger job by telling me to swap engines, but recommended against it for my goals. Top guy!

Engine no longer for sale

FYI Det Cans are the "headphones" mappers wear when mapping a car to listen for detonation (Knock)
