Default 2003 impreza WRX STI type uk

I fancy a change to a classic with dccd so I'm putting my blob STI up for sale.

2003
69,700miles will rise slightly as I'm using it daily at the moment
Tax expires 31/3/14
Mot expires 27/4/14
Both original keys and handbook present
Number of former keepers on logbook is 4
Service book stamped up to 64,000 miles
Receipt for timing belt shows it was changed 20k miles ago

Engine :
Full 3" turbo back cobra exhaust inc decats (standard cat supplied with car)
CAI in inner wing with new ramair filter fitted
Exedy clutch fitted by a previous owner (receipt present)
Scooby clinic remap to 332bhp with printout
MSD magnetic sump plug fitted

Exterior :
18" innovit redlinesi fitted with 4 x 225/40/18 tyres ( fronts done a about 1000 miles)
Detangoed headlights
Perrin wing stiffies x 2
Front lower lip fitted by revolution
Blue rally style mud flaps
Hidden towbar fitted (never got round to removing)

I've just fitted front Godspeed grooved disks and Kevlar pads last week and changed the oil and filter the week before (I've now changed the oil twice in 1900 miles with millers cfs 10w 50 and a genuine black subaru filter).

There are a few age related marks on the car most noticeable is a tiny dent with a little chip on the boot lid but it wouldn't show in the photo, there is a car park ding on one of the doors but again only noticeable if the suns hitting it on an angle and you're looking down the side of the car. Stone chips on the front but mainly just on the front lower lip (I was planning on resparaying it black with plasti dip but not got round to it)

The only real down side with the car is the synchro on 5th is worn (common on early STI's I'm lead to believe) I bought the car knowing this and its not changed in the 2000 miles I've done in it, it never grinds into gear it's just a little notchy if you change gears while stretching its legs, it's probably only done it 2 or 3 times in the time I've owned it. You would need to experience a test drive to see how minor it is.

I have been quoted 600 to replace the synchros with john pye Motorsport, that was with me removing the box and dropping it off, but in all honestly I couldn't justify spending the money as it doesn't affect the car 99% of the time.

Looking for £5800ovno

Forgot that while the car was in at AS Performance for diagnostic to cure IACV it had compression check which Alyn was happy with and a set of colder grade plugs fitted pfr6's iirc

Cheers

Toying with the idea of putting all the running gear into a classic

Looking for £5500 the car drives faultless and it's only 300 to have the synchros replaced, if I hadn't mentioned the issue with 5th being slightly notchy at high rpm you would never have known its so slight.

If I can't get what I want for it I've decided to keep it and mod it to my ideal road car or swap the parts into a classic for the crack.

Kind regards

Mick

Not the bloke was a car trader, he rang 3 times, arranged to send someone 4 days later then didn't ring, then rang to say he was sending someone on the train so I arranged an early finished from Work as I had to give notice in advance but he didn't ring again, then rang again Saturday just gone but I was in the middle of removing the towbar and tidy some bits and pieces up so I told him it wasn't for sale anymore.

I've had a few pm's today, I'm using the car everyday for work it drives faultlessly and looks amazing there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car for normal road use, 5th gear is a little notchy if you're daft enough to be doing well over 100mph on public roads, yes if you want to do a trackday or something it would be better with a new 5th gear synchro.

I gave the car a good clean inside and out at the weekend and it's came up lovely there are no noticeable marks to speak of ( I'll happily point out the two little marks to anyone viewing the car) and inside is immaculate the seats cleaned up really well with autoglym interior shampoo.

I think the car being cheap is putting people off but 5500 is what it owes me and it does need £300 spending on synchro so I think the price is fair as it stands.

I am hoping to get the box out this weekend, I've not had a chance as I'm using it everyday for work and the weathers been cr4p for using my bike.

Kind regards

Mick

If you're looking for a blob STI fella, mine was 5500, with the gearbox refurbed you would be looking at well maintained car with good fast road spec for max £6500, if you spend less than that on a blob STI it's probably gonna be a money pit and you will have to sink more than a grand into it anyway.

Just my 2p but you can't run these cars on a budget and you won't find a "good" one for anything like £5500

Kind regards

Any reason you're not going to mot&tax? Am in the market for one of these or a wrx. Any chance of a contact number?

Errrr because I taxed it and sold it last week?

Good luck with your search, you'll have to read full adverts if you're gonna put over 5 grand into summit though fella
