Default 1997 Classic UK model - SOLD

Subaru Impreza Turbo 1997 (facelift) 5 door £1,500

159,000 miles
API engine rebuild at 106,300
MOT until May 2014

I bought this car a year ago with the intention of using it as a fun weekend toy and occasional track day car. Unfortunately, I simply have not found the time to use it as much as I had hoped, let alone the time for tack days. In fact the car has covered only 1400 miles between MOT’s.

Although the mileage is quite high, the car has been looked after meticulously by me and by the previous owner, who had it for 7 years. I have a thick file of receipts, old MOT’s, etc.

Full engine rebuild at 106,300 miles by API Engines Ltd (Impreza specialists) including:
o Lightened flywheel
o Ported headers
o Uprated fuel pump
o Fuel pressure regulator

The following items have been recently replaced or upgraded:
• 4-pot Subaru front brake calipers
• New brake discs and pads all round
• 5 Zigen 17” alloys in matt black (genuine JDM wheels, not copies)
• 4 x New Toyo Proxes T1 Sport 215/45-17
• 4 wheel laser alignment
• New battery
• New cambelt & idler (158,578 miles)
• Hayward & Scott full stainless steel exhaust system including down pipe
• Meister Zeta-R adjustable shock absorbers
• New clutch (158,966 miles)
• New wheel bearing
• Clear front indicators and crystal repeaters

The car runs brilliantly, pulls like a train and is very sound. However, it is not a garage queen and has a number of stone chips, as you would expect on a 16 year old car. Sadly, at some time in the past, someone decided to key the car down the near side. The scratch has been touched up, but not brilliantly.

The car has a tow bar and roof rack (included), which are great if you want to get away for a weekend’s mountain biking! It also has a GT Alarm and immobilizer fitted (with the Certificate of Installation for insurance companies).

I hope that it will go to a Subaru enthusiast who can find time to use it more than I have.
