Default 2001 WRX 301bhp with Andy F tuning PRICE NOW REDUCED!!

Ok, so it's time to let my beloved 2001 WRX go to a new home!

It's been professionally tuned by Andy Forrest to 301bhp. A few specs first:

Engine

Hybrid TD04 turbo, supplied and mapped by AFP
STi intercooler
Prodrive backbox & H&S full exhaust with std cats removed and replaced by a sports cat within the Ninja downpipe.
STi pink injectors
Green panel filter

Suspension

Prodrive springs
Whiteline adjustable 22mm anti rollbar
Aluminium droplinks

Brakes

EBC Bluestuff NDX fronts (the ones everyone keeps going on about!), Ferodo DS2500 rears, AS Performance discs have covered only 5000mls.
Goodrich braided hoses
Dot 5.1 fluid

Condition

The car is in excellent condition. Dark green metallic - I went out looking for this colour and love it! There are the usual stone chips, a couple of very small ones on the bonnet, more on the front spoiler plus a couple of light scratches on the rear bumper. The roof, doors, wings and front panels are immaculate. There are a few scratches on the std 17" wheels, but no rust etc as I had them powder coated a couple of years back. The car has covered just over 96k miles (10k per year), with a full service history and Silkolene Pro S fully synthetic oil for the 5 years that I' have cherished this car!

Visited Subaru specialist SW Motorsport recently. Steve said whover bought this would be getting a good car. The garage owner where my routine servicing is done, GB Motors, said he'd always liked the car and would buy it himself if he had the spare cash!

So what's it like to drive??

Well, Andy F calls the TD04H a "good wee turbo", because although others will give higher headline bhp figures, the fact that it produces it's power from 2500revs results in a car that is very driveable. At the same time, it pulls all the way to 7000revs.
The car has what in effect are Scoobynet's "recommended WRX suspension mods". The Prodrive springs and Whiteline ARB result in a car which is sits flat and composed on the bends, with the usual understeer dialled out. It's a lot of fun, yet at the same time the ride is pretty good!

The car had a service and MOT in April 2011 is taxed till November. 4 brand new Kumho KU39 tyres were put on in April 2011 - they've done less than 100 miles!

Viewing essential - I'm near Edinburgh.

Now reduced from £3790 to £3490 or nearest offer (Please PM me with offers or for email/phone details).

Stunning motor. Wish it went up a month or so later, my bug-eye has just gone off the road and will be looking for a replacement in the next month or so!

Cheers mate. Did you get a Scoob? If so, hope you're having fun and got it over to Sweden ok!

PS Green cars are faster! Looks pretty smart in the flesh, bit like British Racing Green.

lol, forgot about that Shaun! Yes, it's got a rather subtle bodykit. Was at the local stealers not long after getting it and they commented that it was a nice fit.

Yes, Italian styled Orciari. Costs c£700. Nice though and by no means OTT.

Hadn't really thought about what I'd spent on upgrades:
  • Andy F Remap - £580
  • Hybrid TD04 turbo - £400
  • Ninja downpipe with sports cat - £300
  • H&S Deresonated decat centre section - £150?
  • Prodrive backbox - £200?
  • STi intercooler - £75 on here
  • Green panel filter - £50
  • STi pink injectors - c£250
Exedy clutch and API lightened flywheel 3 yrs ago (forgot those lol!) - c£450
  • Prodrive Springs - £400 when fitted by my local stealer
  • Whiteline ARB - £130
  • Whiteline steel droplinks - £40
  • Bluestuff front & Ferodo rear pads - £350
  • Goodrich Stainless Steel brake hoses (reduces fade) plus Motul 5.1 fluid - - £100 fitted.
  • ASPerformance discs c£150
  • Prodrive "debugging" heaadlights - £400
  • Osciari bodykit inc front lip, front mesh, rear apron & side skirts - £700

Now I know why I'm always skint!

Have to say personally have never done so but obviously a good few do !! from what I can see thou mate the vast majority off subs are just not selling on ebay come end off auction, spoke to a guy the other week who had his 02 bugeye up for sale on there, low mileage - 50k, 3 owners from new , fsh in wrb colour and it only received one bid and that was £2900- so yep it sold for that !!

have spoken to others sellers who cant even shift 55 plate blobs for £5k and thats with again low mileage and genuine full service histories.

yours is a lovely, lovely car mate, if anything as already mentioned the colour is possibly putting a few buyers off, most buyers are looking for the usual blue/ silver or whites also appreciatte that a lot off money has been spent on the car and its been very well looked after but a lot off lower end subaru sales are based on what price its going for and not just how well its been looked after / had spent on it.

again very best off luck with sale mate.

Hello Jono,

Got £3150, which I thought was ok. Great car at that price for the new buyer I reckon.

Replacement is my recently purchased Litchfield Type 20 Spec C.

Auld car went to Aberdeen area. Might be seen around Haddington as that's where his ma lives.

Cheers re the Litchfield. To answer - a) Noticably faster b) handling - wow! c) pretty noisy, but I love it!

What model/yr/colour scoob are you in?
