Nice motor. Apart from the exhaust, what else have to done to get 260bhp? Would have thought it needed a remap to get those figures.

A back box will net u 5-10bhp max. hp was 215 from the factory, so 225bhp max. Please don't try to tell us that your mechanics bum is a better judge of horse power than the thouands of dyno runs completed by members on here, including me. There is enough experience on this website to know what to expect from the mods you have.
Especially when you consider that the standard TD04 turbo will max out at around 270bhp.

One thing thats puts buyers off on here is when seller claims horse power figures that do not match the mods.

Not having a pop, just friendly advice.

All I can say is that some one I don't know who i did not pay has said it's
more than 230bhp in the 260.
Uk impreza is between 200-230 bhp.
Imports are between 230 260 bhp.
As mentioned don't know what owner before me has done, car does what
it suppose to do.
Your all welcome to strip down car to find out what's it got, just make sure
you put her back together.
It is not a war, but if you want to sell your car, just be honest. Say you don't know the horse power. Rather than saying some bloke that you don't know or ever paid reckons it has 45bhp more than the factory standard.......from just a back box.
The waste-gate mod is a little worrying though. Care to tell us more?

As for waste gate I believe it's not standard when you change gear at a
steady speed you get chatter that's the only way I know how to explain it.
THE TURBO IS NOT BLOWING OUT BLUE SMOKE OR RATTERLING.
All who are considering taking a look may bring AA-RAC OR THERE OWN MECHANIC..!
That's the dump valve. The standard 'recirculating valve' has been replaced with a 'vent to atmosphere valve' (can see this on your intercooler) and this is why you get the 'whoosh' sound when you lift off the gas. Nothing to do with the waste gate. This is internal on the TD04 turbo I believe.

That's the problem. What work are you talking about?
A dumpvalve is a dumpvalve, nothing special about it. Some make noise, some don't.
I am trying to help you here but you really are missing the point.

Good luck with the sale.

And they get rather miffed when someone who doesn't know what a dump valve is, claim to know the BHP of their car because they have knowledge and common sense.

Well I suggest you state what you know rather than what you have been told.

I had a bloke come out to fit a replacement window to my old work hack astra a few years back. He also noticed that I had a scooby on the drive. He started telling me about his evo. I was interested until he told me that the car had two exhausts.....one for the engine and one for the nitrous! He was actually serious and got quite upset when I told him that what he said was bull****. He then asked, 'Does your car have a dump valve?' I said 'Yup, most turbo cars do.' He looked a bit perplexed and then responded with 'you can really feel the difference can't ya!' At that point I went to make the tea as I was going to end up punching him if I continued exchanging words with him.

Point is, don't believe what everyone tells you, even if you don't know any different.

My t plate impreza turbo uk with the exact same mods (cat back exhaust) made 224 bhp on the rolling road.

If its close to 260bhp then it most definately would have had a remap at some point in its life.

The car looks great though fella, sold mine, for around the price you are asking as well so it should sell. good luck with the sale.
