Default (07) SUBARU STI TYPE JDM SPEC C TYPE 20 (2007)

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...ype-20/3730939

Impreza Hawkeye MY07 Litchfield Spec C Type 20 in White – very low mileage and comprehensive Subaru specialist service history.

When I decided to buy an Impreza I knew I had to find the best available – after travelling far and wide to view ‘so called’ mint examples I found the perfect car just 5 miles from home.

I found a 2007, one owner, Litchfield T20 with 14k miles on the clock, as soon as I viewed it I had to have it – a deal was struck and I was the very happy new owner.

Vehicle specification on purchase

The car started life as a brand new 2007 JDM STi spec ‘C’ imported by Litchfields
The MY07 JDM STi has several improvements over the UK/Euro version including:

• JDM is stronger 2.0ltr UK / Europe is ‘fragile’ 2.5ltr
• Twin scroll turbo
• Nitride coated, cross drilled crank
• 13:1 STi quick rack
• Slightly larger intercooler design
• Auto and manual intercooler spray (UK get manual activation only)
• More aggressive inlet cams
• Equal length headers
• Electric folding wing mirrors
• 235 width tyres (UK get 225)
• 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th same as UK, 5th and 6th are shorter
• Front STi titanium strut brace
• 8,000rpm redline

The MY07 Spec C is approx 90Kg lighter than the standard STi due to the following changes:

• Rear wash wipe **deleted**
• Privacy glass **deleted**
• Deadlocks **deleted**
• Boot trim and carpet **deleted**
• Passenger sun visor **deleted**
• Grab handles **deleted**
• Ski hatch **deleted**
• Glove box light **deleted**
• Isofix child seat fixing point **deleted**
• Underseal **deleted**
• Sound deadening **deleted**
• Map lights **deleted**
• Speakers in rear doors **deleted**
• Centre diagonal inertia seatbelt **deleted**
• Side airbags **deleted**
• HID headlights **deleted**
The Spec C has the following changes over and above the JDM STi:
• Thinner lightweight glass
• Lightweight roof
• Aluminium bonnet and boot lid
• 12 litre intercooler spray bottle mounted behind the rear seats
• Different radiator and water pump
• Engine & transmission oil coolers
• Roller bearing version of the twin scroll turbo
• Rear strut brace
• Lightweight front subframe
• Performance revolving chamber fuel pump (anti surge)
• Black seats, door panels and carpet
• Stiffer chassis with revised welding
• Larger intake pipe
• Roof vent
• Smaller 50 litre fuel tank
• Smaller lightweight battery

The Spec C can was modified by Litchfield Imports to become a Type 20.

• 3" Miltek exhaust system with centre resonator
• Ecutek ECU remap
• 3 port boost control solenoid
• K & N panel air filter
• Type 20/25 AST 12 way adjustable coilover suspension
• Type 20/25 handling pack (anti lift kit, stiffer Whiteline front and rear anti roll bars)
• STi front lip spoiler
• Type 20 floor mats
• Type 20 badges
• 347bhp/334ft lb torque. (Recently checked at Power station to be 355bhp/358ft lb)

In addition to the above specification this car benefits from some sensible upgrades and modifications.

• Goodridge brake hoses fitted front and rear.
• Additional underseal by Litchfields prior to delivery.
• Defi gauges, comprising of oil temperature, oil pressure and turbo boost. High quality pod.
• Kenwood cd/cassette/ head unit with USB connection,
• Post Intercooler air intake temperature gauge
• Clock relocated to under stereo
• Intercooler water spray running LED in Defi POD
• Subaru rear foglamp switch
• Silvertec front and rear indicator bulbs fitted
• Stebel Nautilus air horns
• Upgraded door speakers (standard size original replacements)
• Professionally tinted rear screen and rear side windows using Johnsons film (easily removable)
• Revolution Motor Sport black mesh lower front grill
• Subaru plastic boot liner
• Cobra Cat 1 alarm
• Rac Trackstar with Installation certificate
• Two sets of original keys and alarm keyfobs
• Scott Lowe front and rear black rally style mudflaps with black anodized brackets
• Original unmarked gold STi alloy wheels with with 235/45-17 Michelin PS2 tyres
• Spare set of unmarked black gloss powder coated STi alloy wheels with 235/45-17 Bridgestone RE070 tyres
• HID dipped beam
• Subaru passenger sun visor (all that extra weight!!!)

Since purchasing the car I have

• Had the underside cleaned and waxoiled (by Ninemeister Porsche Warrington)
• Replaced the turbo actuator with a genuine item due to very slight wastegate rattle when cold (supplied by RCM, fitted and boost / fuelling checked by Powerstation)
• Fitted new Rallytech mudflaps with Sti logo’s
• Replaced the front Goodridge brake hoses (supplied and fitted by Chevron Motorsport)
• Replaced the brake fluid with AP formula dot 5.1 (by Chevron Motorsport)
• Replaced the gearbox oil with Fuchs transmission fluid (by Chevron Motorsport)
• Geo/ tracking Set up ( by ninemeister Porsche Warrington.
• Performance Friction 2 piece discs and Pagid RS29 pads less than 1000 miles ago (fitted by Chevron Motorsport)

Service history

The service history is without doubt comprehensive, completed every 6 months regardless of mileage the bulk being carried out at Roger Clark Motorsport, it has 16 stamps in the book and file full of paperwork to back it up.
Immediately after purchasing the vehicle it went to RCM for a once over , oil service and cam belt kit (this included genuine belt, tensioner, toothed idler, 2 smooth idlers, small smooth idler). Whilst there RCM discovered a small blow on the up-pipe gasket so this was obviously replaced.

General

This car can only be described as exceptional inside and out. It was fastidiously looked after by the first owner and I have continued his good work. The only minor issues (being very picky here) are a few minor stone chips on front bumper and at bottom of rear arch. These cant be helped with car been driven sadly. The Car has always been run on V- power.

This car wants for nothing!!!

Reason for sale

This has to be the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make regarding a car. I bought the car to use everyday and be a track toy. Since purchasing the car I’ve now developed the urge to do the Time Attack (clubmans) series. I’m now thinking is this the right car to use in this manor (as its value is obviously condition / history based) or should I prepare and use a less perfect example? That’s my current dilemma !!!!!
Therefore I have decided to test the market to see if there is a prospective buyer out there that can appreciate this stunning car. If she doesn’t sell I may continue and use her on track.

If anyone is interest or has any questions please get in touch pm

Thanks

Chris

£18900 ovno

Hi Chris,
I'm surprised to see this up for sale again-I was interested when it was for sale last year but you beat me to it!
How many miles have you done since purchase and have you done any trackdays etc in it?
Thanks
Gavin

This is a clean low mileage Spec C in the best colour, and im sure anyone who knows there Subarus know how rare they are in this condition.

Fair comment I just looked at a few Japanese web sites and to bring a S204 with 30k on the clock you'd get not much change out £25000 with shipping and Taxes

So a 68k mile S204 will cost you near £23k once in the UK, Think id rather have a 14k mile white Spec C and save myself £5k.

Well done mate

I think the buyer got a cracking car, You did most the bits that the car needed when you first bought it, the next person can just enjoy it now.
