2002 WRX Wagon with Lots of upgrades - £1,900
UPDATE
Since making this advert, and over the Christmas/New Year hols, i noticed a sound coming from what i thought was the cat. I took it a mechanic who confirmed the hotside turbo wheel is hitting the housing. So the car will need its VF35 replaced.
I don't have the time to do this myself, and have dropped the price to reflect.
I'm now selling the car for £1,900
The mechanic told me not to drive the car after getting home in case something comes loose and gets sucked into the engine. Although the car can be driven it would be best for anyone interested to toe the car.
Below is the original advert, with all other details. Cheers for looking.
Hi All,
I'm selling my beloved and super practical wagon, as I've now bought an STI
Since i have had the car, its been looked after by FBTuning and Slowboy Racing.
I've taken the car for a wash today (28/12/2014) and taken some new pics, which are below.
The car has just hit 108k miles.
The car has the following service history/stamps in the book:
1,002 miles on the 12/10/2002
10,307 miles on the 12/09/2003
20,057 miles on the 06/07/2004
30,016 miles on the 26/05/2005
37,787 miles on the 21/02/2006
48,073 miles on the 14/03/2007
57,699 miles on the 15/05/2008
67,413 miles on the 02/03/2009
76,291 miles on the 25/02/2010
84,773 miles on the 07/03/2011
91,832 miles on the 06/03/2012
97,549 miles on the 25/02/2013
104,085 miles on the 04/07/2014
MOT expires on the 6th Feb 2015.
The previous years MOT had one advisory, slight play in the anti roll bar link. Both links have been changed to new White line links. I also fitted new ball joints at the same time.
4 former owners
2 sets of keys and fobs present
I have receipts for:
£1,117.50 on the 13/08/2014 from FBTuning for:

- Drive shaft fitting
- New gearbox oil
- Remap
Wallet full of other receipts.
ECU:
- Mapped by Neil at Slowboy Racing on 22nd Nov. Neil said the MAF was starting to show signs of it being on the way out. So i ordered a brand new MAF which Neil fitted for me. Neil said the Engine sounds good, is very spooly because of the porting, and had no issues to report. Please feel free to check with Neil if you wish, he will vouch for the engine.
- Mapped again by Neil at Slowboy Racing on the 21st Dec. The car is now running just under 1.4 bar boost, and Neil estimates the power to be around 300BHP.
Engine spec/mods:
- Std WRX intercooler
- Std WRX bonnet scoop and undertray
- Std panel filter
- VF35 turbo
- Bug STI PPP sports cat, that has been wrapped in DEI black wrap
- After burner angled exit exhaust
- Blue Hawk STI injectors
- STI TGV delete
- Rocker cover gaskets replaced with new half moons on both sides (done by Rich at FBTuning)
- Group N engine mounts
- Changed the timing belt, full service, new NGK 7 spark plugs, with brake, gearbox, diff and coolant changed
- Zero sports cool thermostat fitted
- Grimmspeed light weight crank pulley in black fitted
Gearbox and clutch:
- TY754VN6AA from a 2005 Bug with 50,000 on the clock fitted, with drive shafts from the same car. Fitted by Slowboy racing. Feels smooth, nice and tight, and have been told these can take 400BHP!
- New Exedy anti judder pink box - fitted by FBTuning
- Group N Gearbox mount fitted
- Zerosports magnetic gear box and rear diff sump plugs fitted
Wheels, suspension and brakes:
- Gold STI alloys in mint condition, with light weight alloy hubcentric spacers
- WRX calipers, with new Godspeed disks and Blue stuff pads all around (receipt for £410 for these on 13/08/14)
- Stainless steel braided brake hoses all around
- BC Racing coilovers (with new rear springs and new style rubber top mounts)
- Classic Alloy arms, with White line drop links and new ball joints on both sides.
- White line anti lift kit
- Fast road Geo set up, done bye Rich at FBTuning
- Rear camber bolts
Body:
- Blob STI twisted side skirts
- De-tangoed headlights
- Blob rear bumper and rear lights
- Sound proofing in doors, floor pan and boot
- Rear view camera installed above rear licence plate, wiring left in car.
Bad bits:
- I changed the gearbox because of a random noise that happens when coming off the accelerator at high speed. After having a few specialists diagnose the issue over the phone, they all said it was the bearing in the box that was the problem, with a slight chance its the rear diff. I bit the bullet and bought a stronger box thinking the power had caused the problem, to find the noise is still there after the new box has gone in. So must be the rear diff that is causing the noise. This does not affect the way the car drives in the slightest. It doesn't happen all the time, and most may not even notice on a test drive, but i want to be as honest as possible, with no come backs.
- The front passenger wing has a dent at the front, which you can see in one of the pics
- The front drivers side bumper corner has a small scrape that has been touched up
- The rear bumper has a small scrape that has been touched up, which can be seen in one of the pics
- The front has stone chips, and the body has dings here and there, nothing major though
- The BC coilovers at the front are a bit noisy when going over bumps, its like you hear the rod going up and down, Neil from Slowboy Racing said its not a problem/issue, doesn't affect the way the car drives, and nothing can be done to quieten them down. You will only notice it when going over speed bumps.
- Neil from Slowboy Racing fitted an Airbox silicone (straight pipe) pipe that connects to the turbo inlet pipe. This is nosier than the OEM pipe on boost. I don't like it, and will order and OEM pipe to put on.
- The interior looks good when cleaned, but is not perfect, with signs of wear on the front seats, and door cards. Its not major, but worth mentioning.
- I dropped some Wax Oyl in the boot, and as much a I have tried, i cant clean it/get it off.
- Front licence plate has V shape crack on the top right hand side.
- Air con doesn't work.
Overall, the car handles well, has full service history, strong engine, new clutch, brakes, cam belt, full history, and looks very nice. Who ever buys and fits another turbo will have a great, fun and practical car for not very much money.
Its priced to sell. I've spent more in labour and parts than the asking price since i bought the car.
The car is located in London, E4 9JF

Hi All,
Thanks for replying to my thread, and thanks to all those that PM'ed. Sorry for the delay in getting back to everyone, I've been tied up with Christmas stuff, and sorting out a few issues on my new bug STI.
I've taken some of the bolt on bits off, and will try to take new pics and description up asap.

Hi Sneter's!
Merry Christmas to one and all!
Really sorry I haven't been able to update this thread. Had a few problems with the STI I bought, at the same time as getting ready for Xmas, and new years.
I'm about to go to my mum's with the rest of the family for the best meal of the year, followed by the borring, but essential Queen's speach! :-)
I will try my best to update this thread and everyone that has pm'ed before the end of the year.
Thanks for everyone's patience.

Hi Guys,
thanks for the advice, i'll put it up on Pistonheads and Ebay this weekend.
I'm just really busy at the moment :-( and forgotten how time consuming selling a car really is! I do need it gone, but finding the time to advertise it properly is proving to be harder than i thought it would be!
