Default My white Type R V4 Impreza

Up for sale is my ’98 V4 Type R Impreza.

After several months of searching I bought this car earlier in the year.I now have however the opportunity to buy a car I’ve always had a hankering for, sadly meaning this very good example of a Type R needs to go.

The Car is on barely 58,000 Miles which will go up gradually due to occasional weekend use. You are looking at an extremely honest and well maintained example of what is well on track to be a future classic!

MOT Untill May. (No Previous Advisories)
Cambelt replaced 10,000 Miles Ago, Clutch 2,000 Miles ago.

The Car has been considerably modified over the years enhancing it into what is now a very capable fast road car. The majority of work has been documented and retained neatly in an A4 folder alongside service history and various other receipts going back to when the car was first brought into the UK!

To give an idea how well this cars been cared for and documented, I have receipts for oil services (among plenty of other things) at the following intervals:

• 55,337 August ’12
• 54,019 March ’12
• 53,659 Sep ‘11
• 53,343 Mar ‘11
• 52,400 Jul ‘10
• 48,283 Mar ‘09
• 44,967 Oct ‘08
• 41,153 April ‘08
• 38,021 Jan ‘08

The Car benefited from a respray in its original colour around 3 years ago, This was done by the owner at the time who sprayed cars for a living and is fully documented with photos in the service history.
You will therefore find the paint work to be in extremely good condition for a ’98 car.
The inside is also in very good condition with no wear marks on the seats or plastics.

Car was serviced with fresh oils about 1200 Miles ago, Tyres have done less than 500 miles.

The Car will also come with the Original Cat for MOT time.

I’m located on the Isle of Wight, but willing to meet prospected buyers in Southampton subject to a small deposit, otherwise it’s about £15 to come over on foot from either Lymington Southampton or Portsmouth where I can meet you off the ferry Island side.

Price will be £8,350

Superb looking car this. Wish I was in a position to buy and tuck it away for a weekend toy.
You won't need luck to shift this....

It makes no difference Mate, I declared it as the car it is.

Does mean you could play ignorance and insure it as whatever model its been registered as but not worth the risk tbh.

Its not uncommon for the DVLA to get imported cars registered incorrectly, I have a civic hatch registered as a 4 door saloon once!

Thanks for all the messages folks, all PM's replied to.

Ahh I see, so as it's a Japanese import does that mean there is technically no standard car to compare modifications too as my dad was once told about ours when it was written off?

Thanks,

Tom.

Yes, but as they're imports, doesn't that mean technically there is no standard car to compare modifications to, so technically every import is standard and insurance wise all have no modifications.

Thanks,

Tom.

No! Insurance companies are not stupid. If you want to insure it as a gl, they will happily allow you too, if you crash or if it's stolen, they will rightly laugh at you. Basically you will not be insured.. Honesty is the best option, a decent insurer won't charge you much more for mods (moley)

This is phenomenal! Good luck with the sale! this is exactly what I was looking for 18 months ago before I got my Widetrack STI. If I didnt have a car I'd be running down the road to meet you at the ferry terminal!

I must admit I did do a quick "How much is my car worth? How much do I have in the bank...." when I saw it! Lol.

DR Motorsport did them - was it from them?

Are they still going (forget the owner's name)...?

Judging by the comments on this thread I've acquired a very nice car. It was a pleasure dealing with Toby and thanks to Martin (My mate) for taking the time and effort to pick this car up for me - Even though secretly he's buzzing to drive it himself ;-)

Deal fallen through due to unforeseen circumstances at the sellers end. Still on the lookout for something similar so any heads up would be greatly appreciated. Ta.
