De Tango Blobeye lights
Hi guys
I know what is what with detangoed headlights but i have seen a few on here that have painted the outer reflective part in black an was just wondering if any body can comment on what would be the best paint to use, i assume its going to be a mat black out of a can but does it need to be laquered? And also has anybody had any issues with flaking under heat etc??
Gonna go whip the lights out now and start the process fingers crossed it does not take too long
Cheers!

cheers for the replys guys
I completed them last night, i got in from work and thought id give it ago
took me a few hours but the end result is brill, much much better than the standard look and gives the car a much more aggressive look imo.
i flattened them both back and gave them a few licks with black mat paint whilst popping them in and out of the oven to dry them and im very happy with the results! although i did take a chunk out of my thumb whilst separating the lights which is still rather sore
seems like we have all used different paints lol!
will figure out how to put pics up and post some later of the final result!
cheers!!

It really isn't that bad, it took less than 10 mins to get the lights out, longest part is the seperating of the light i found, but from there on in was easy enough, as long as your confident with a paint can (honestly it aint hard lol ) you'll get there, patience goes a long way as well!
Give it a go! Makes hell of a difference when you clock them head on! Much cleaner slick/mean look

Oven is fine bud u can literally hold the light an the baking tray when i pulled mine out of there, donit at a lower heat and pop them in and out of oven prising the light apart everytime it comes out bit by bit and you wont cause no damage, think of it, when a car gets painted it gets put in an oven/baker, things dont melt then

av been a paint sprayer in the motor trade for over 10 years and when a car goes into the booth to be baked it is at about 60 degreas air temp thats about 40-45 metal temp so bit of a untrue comment to make about stuff not melting comapred to a kitchen oven. although am not saying the oven isnt fine just i prefered to use a heat gun.

When lights are seperated you will see a single screw holding in the the surround you want to paint, i scotched mine thoroughly, i did not prime mine but others do, i gave it a quick lick with the can put the surround back in oven for a few mins prob no more than 5, took it back out and repeated the procedure 3 times, when it came out of the oven on the final time i left it to cool right down for about an hour then re assembled the lights, i also used some tiger seal to make sure they were nice and sealed , pushed the two halves back together and popped it in the oven to let the bond heat up, removed it and pressed firmly back together, each light took 3 heats in the oven to get it back nice and tight, i then put screws back in and warmed it up again before giving the screws a final turn
Hope tha helps but as marshall said there is a thread with it on somewhere, thas what i went off an all
