Default Boot spoiler fitment? Quick question..

Hi all

My question is, will a boot lid or high wing spoiler (or both) from a 2001 WRX STi fit a 2006 Hawkeye WRX. It looks like the right fitment but was asking, just to be sure

Thanks in advance

Newage WRX spoilers all share the same fixings - 2 bolts each side. The STi spoiler has a good few more bolts so you will need to drill a WRX bootlid.

So it won't be the model years that get you, it'll be the different number of holes.

Cheers Tim, appreciated. Here's a link to the sale. Any ideas if the colours match? Franticallay doing homework on exact matching colour or whether this is different.

Thanks again

Colour match - you'll have to check paint codes as there have been various different blacks over the years.

I missed part of your question - yes, bootlids from the various years are interchangeable to the best of my knowledge.

One thing to watch is that when you swap high level and low level spoilers, the bootlid springs are wrong. Either it won't stay open, or it springs open at 100mph depending on which way you go.

You really need to get hold of the right springs when you swap over.

Thanks again Tim, looking at the pics, in your opinion, do you think the spoiler alone will fit our Hawkeye? Don't mind getting it sprayed as long as it fits! Judging by the shape of the boot, it loos fine

Thanks again

The spoiler will fit, but as already said, you'll have to drill holes in your existing bootlid.

The bootlid complete with spoiler will also fit.

You will ideally need to change springs so the bootlid stays open and doesn't slam down on your head. Not essential, but desirable - and better that way round rather than moving to a lighter spoiler from the high level one when the internal release causes the boot to fly up.
