Default Bodywork using Wet & Dry

I have anti-rust treated, primed and painted in a rather large chip on the alfa's bodywork. Looks reasonablely hidden now but I would like to be a bit smoother and really tidy it up a bit more.

What grade of wet & dry should I use that will not damage the surrounding body work? If this goes well I also have an area were someone keyed the car to try and hide.

1500 and above will polish out but you'd probably need a machine polisher

Excellent, I actually have some 1500! I take it I shouldn't apply any pressure, just lightly does it? This is a very un-noticed area but I could get the hold of a machine polisher without much hassle off a friend.

Yep, nice and light, also use a sanding block if you have one. Try some washing up liquid in your water and make sure you keep the paper clean.
