Default HT AUTOS REAR WINDOWS SPOILER

as the title states is there any info anywhere onfitting these? got one from mark one of there new uerathene ones and looks like its a bit out where bolts on but i assume you have to bend it down a bit so lifting in the middle yeah? as seems a bit low in the middle?

dont think anybody knows? a local bodyshop had a look inside the rear pillars and said theres layers of stell and would struggle to fit it?
someone has bount to have fitted one of these!!

got a window spoiler fitted a few months back the pannel beater fitted it with some sort of resin no drilling never moved. hope this helps

i also have the new one from mark and found that the middle sagged a little when lining up for fitting, so i propped it up with a rag while the tiger seal cured, drilling was too much involved, had one on my old car that was on with tiger seal never a problem in 3 years

yeah did think about tigerseal and theres a better one as well but i have seen them come off and pull all the paint off as well obviously as the bond is so strong!! its going back in tomorrow and there gonna bond it but also dowl it into the car so will deff not come off,
i just dont trust bonding alone and this seems to be where the problem lies!

Thats strange, if its strong enough to hold to the paint that the fault sounds like it lies with the paint not sticking to the car rather than the glue not sticking to the car.

yes correct it wont come off the paint but there is pictures on scoobynet of this happening

Eek that isnt good. Just curious as to how these work. The angle they are at looks like they will just cause drag and up lift and you can understand why they may come off easily. The angle is the opposite to what the rear spoilers would be at.

What i know(and what i read) these spoilers are designed be bolted(this so choose to glue them on and this sort of thing is the outcome) they are designed (when fitted in the correct place) to guide air down onto the rear spoiler creating more downforce,but this only works at speeds of 85mph+

But better option is Vortex generator,which is very effective on EVO

Im sure Subaru have done their testing and found it works but to my humble mind this doesnt make sense. It forcing air down means that there as to be an opposite reaction, in this case lifting the car up only to have, Im sure, a smaller percentage of what initially caused the lift to counteract this when it reaches the rear spoiler due to the air dissipating.

It looks good though.
