painting spats and side skirts
i am thinking about colour coding my spats and side skirts, my main question is what paint do people normally use on the spats as they are rubbery ?
Also how bad is paint chipping/flaking ?
thanks

Removing them can be a laugh a minute, since the older the car, the more rusty the bolts holding them in are. A good tip is to replace ALL bolts with stainless once they ARE off.
If you do knacker some clips, don't panic, Scoob dealers will get them in for a few pence each.
Painting? I'd let a professional do it. They need rubbing down, scrupulously cleaning, spraying with plastic primer, then with top coat, then laquer.
Be warned, failure to use the correct primer will result in it all falking off. I know, I was that miser

Alcazar has it guys - although you can do it youself with the right weather if outsde etc.. - the thing about a paintshop is that they will be able to bake the paint and laquer giving a more durable coating.
The way to go about it if you are doing it yourself is to scrub everything with spirit wipe or thinners. then rub it all down to provide a key and spiritwipe again.
A good plastic primer coating then rub that back and start your colour buildups etc...
Drying coats with a hotair gun or similar will help..
To be honest though - get em off, prep them, then pop and get em sprayed in a bodyshop where they can bake em less hassell and better coating fronm a spraygun!!
