STI Splitter covered in 3M Di-Noc.
Had a small bump with my Scott Lowe splitter (surprisingly very strong and didn’t crack), which needed repair and was going to paint it, when I thought I’d give the carbon look a go.
So purchased a piece 1200mm x 300mm for £23 delivered. Had originally intended to cut this into 1200mm x 150mm and join in the middle, however I just couldn’t get it to sit tightly enough in the recess. Might have been lack of experience/technique but just couldn’t get it to go right, although I don’t doubt it is possible to do it in one piece. Ended up cutting it again and joining it in the recess, didn’t look too bad.
Lessons learnt, use a hair dryer, a single temp hot air gun is too hot.
Get somebody to help you.
Don’t be tempted to pierce any air bubbles, the vinyl has an element of shrinkability so the hole just opens up.
I’ll see how long it lasts, if it’s no good I’ll end up painting it.

That looks the dogs mate, but the splitters are so vulnerable on our excuse for roads. Can you laquer that stuff? How hard wearing does it feel? I want to get some for my silver interior trim pnls.
Is that black colour vinyl as it looks quite grey in the outside shots?
Where did you buy it for that price?

Lacquering has been discussed on the other thread, don't think it's been that successful. I would say those pictures are representative of the actual colour, it's supposed to be Black, but it's more of a Charcoal colour.
Mine is from Ebay seller "underground-graphics" £23 inc postage.
No idea on the durability yet, although my car doesn’t see many miles so not exactly a good test.

Cheers Allan, I've ordered some for my dash pnls. There are some excellent pics on the vinyl wrap thread of interior pnls and they look superb. I assume it comes with fitting instructions? What's the best 'tool' to use to flatten it down into the corners?

If it's in an internal radius then anything the correct shape will do, although you don't want anything sharp, see my comments above about putting holes in it. External radius you would just stretch it round.
